What an amazing lunch today hearing about some of the projects our Club is supporting in the area of youth. Mihnea spoke to us about his experiences of attending RYLA and the National Science Programme, while Joseph from St Paul's and Abbey from Auckland Girls' talked to us about their experiences of Outward Bound. Our Guest Speaker Enrico spoke about the National Science Programme, which he runs, and how Rotary supports the awesome work it does to get our young people interested in science and technology as a career. We also had Constantine come and visit our Club as a guest. He bought a banner from his Grandad's Club in Germany. We truly have some impressive young people in our midst and it was so good to hear how the programmes we sponsor make a difference in their lives.

It is always a joy to present scholarships to Auckland's young rising stars. Last night Past President Kristen Flannery and current President Steve Corbett were thrilled to be able to present the Beca and Rotary Club of Auckland Scholarship to Henissa Tong. Congratulations Henissa. We wish you all the best and look forward to following your career.
What a night! We had the pleasure of presenting scholarships to nine students who are studying their Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Auckland. This programme, established in 2005, is just one way we encourage more young people to join our industry. Congratulations to Kala Payinda, Dayton Henry, Phyliss Lan, Trisan Q Huynh and Jayden Kah, who are in their second year of an Honours degree and receive a $3,000 scholarship. Congratulations to Eric Shen, Mihnea Vlad and Theodore McIntosh are in their final year of an Honours degree and receive a $3,500 scholarship. And congratulations to Henissa Tong who received the $6,000 Beca and Rotary Club of Auckland Scholarship, awarded to a student in their final year of an Honours Degree who has the best combination of academic achievement, contribution to society and leadership abilities. Thanks to Rupert Hodson, James Bones, The University of Auckland Dean of Engineering Richard Clarke and Steve Corbett and Kristen Flannery from the Rotary Club of Auckland for presenting the awards. #Scholarships #EngineeringStudents #BrightFutures #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter

It was great to have our RYLA candidates come along and share their experiences of attending the latest RYLA event with our Club members over coffee today at the Akarana Marine Sports Charitable Trust cafe. Supporting our future leaders, by enabling them to attend a programme like RYLA, is a really important part of our youth development strategy.
