In Latin, “inspirare” means “to breathe or blow into” - to guide, move, and shift energies. Unsurprisingly, many early meanings of the word connect with spirit and life itself.
New Zealand has mastered the art of infusing vitality: the traditional Māori greeting, the hongi, where two people press noses and foreheads together, embodies the exchange of the “hā”, the breath of life, in a powerful symbol of unity. Even “aroha” - or love - holds the essence of “hā”, the life force that animates souls.
During my time spent in Aotearoa, I set out to find more Inspirators for our storytelling series: www.inspirators.org
My goal was to discover the “Kiwinspirators”, the regenerators, creatives, and sustainability change-makers who breathe more life into their communities and understand what makes New Zealand’s unique culture stand out on the world stage.
I went on a quest for bold ideas and impactful initiatives, interviewing incredible luminaries - from Māori visionaries with great mana, to curious Kiwis and courageous souls who have chosen Aotearoa as their second home, amazing humans from South Africa, Germany, the UK, Argentina, and beyond. Each took time to reflect on what it means to contribute to New Zealand’s thriving sustainability ecosystem.

I want to become an active part of New Zealand’s sustainability ecosystem.
Storytelling has the power to shape inner and outer change, and I’d love to bring my expertise to this corner of the world to boost innovation and build global partnerships. As a regenerative storyteller, I can amplify the voices of those thought leaders driving real change and building the next generation of impact-driven businesses.
Help me spotlight some other brilliant “Kiwinspirators”!
