Mō te Tūranga | About the Role 

In this pivotal role, reporting to the Executive General Manager, Consumer Brands, you’ll lead our New Zealand onshore and offshore customer sales and service operations for our direct brands and bank partners’ business. Your focus will be to deliver world class experiences for our people, customers and partners while driving strong financial outcomes and ensuring alignment with IAG’s risk management practices.

As part of the Consumer Brands leadership team, you’ll work collaboratively to develop the strategy, build the business unit plan and prioritise activities and funding to achieve overall business performance. Your ability to lead a large, diverse, high-performing team and foster a culture of continuous improvement will be key to your success in this role.

This is a fixed term opportunity until October 2025 open to IAG office locations in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

We’re seeking candidates with the following skills and experiences

  • Leading large-scale operational / contact centre teams at a senior manager level.
  • Effective communication skills supporting the leadership of a large and diverse workforce, engagement with other senior leaders and executive managers.
  • Developed people leadership skills with a proven ability to role model values and behaviours.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building capability and optimising the performance of teams.
  • Proven ability to define, plan, and shape strategies and initiatives into tactical plans for successful delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience in business / operational transformation.
  • Operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing complexity, ambiguity and responding to change.
  • Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared goals.
  • Creating a continuous improvement environment aligned with agile ways of working.
  • Identifying and managing risks with effective risk controls.
