▶ Highlights from the launch event: "Powering Pakistan's Future: Pathways to Optimize Affordable & Sustainable Electricity Generation Beyond IGCEP 2024-34" We are thrilled to share key insights from the second edition of our study, conducted in collaboration with Renewables First. This study offers a critical analysis of IGCEP 2024-34, presenting alternative scenarios to integrate renewable energy more effectively and optimize costs for Pakistan’s power sector. 📌Key Findings: 1️⃣ Updated planning assumptions could save $22.3 billion by aligning projections with real costs. 2️⃣ Optimizing committed projects could save $5.79 billion, boosting the VRE share to 13-26% by 2033. 3️⃣ Increased net metering adoption cuts system costs by $3.7 billion. 4️⃣ Transferring industrial captive loads to the national grid reduces coal dependence. 5️⃣ Expanding NTDC-KE transmission ties decreases new generation needs and enhances grid sustainability. 📄 Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/eY3YnBwm Thank you to all experts, policymakers, and stakeholders for contributing to the success of this event!
