    Matthew's tip on writing cold emails: stop talking about yourself. Think about how flattering it is when you put your prospect in the spotlight right away. Instead of leading with "I" or "We," start with "You." Research your prospect and craft an opening that shows you understand their challenges or goals. For example: ✖️We're a leading software company... ✔️ Your recent expansion into Europe must be exciting - and challenging. This simple shift: - grabs attention - makes the prospect feel valued - shows you've done your homework Remember: in cold outreach, it's not about you. It's about THEM.

    Here's Patrick's way to guide sales reps on cold emails: categorize each sentence. To see the structure you used. Is this about the company, challenge, impact, solution, or description? By categorizing each sentence, you'll quickly identify gaps in your outreach. Are you heavy on description but light on impact? All challenges with no solution? This simple exercise helps balance your message and ensures you're hitting key points that resonate with prospects. Keep in mind, you don't have to say everything in one go.     It's okay to use clickbaits in cold emails. As Matthew says - that's the thing that gets the opens But here's the catch: your email content needs to deliver on that clickbait promise. Otherwise, you're just burning bridges. The key is to use intriguing subject lines that hint at real value, then follow through in the body. Remember: in outbound, your goal isn't just an open - it's a response and eventual meeting. Clickbait might get you the former, but only genuine value will secure the latter..

    Why is Cold Email *still* great for getting new customers? 👀 Two reasons: 1️⃣ The cost per lead can go as low as $18.12. Let’s say you want to contact 500 people/month. You’d pay: ✅ $29 for a cold email tool ✅ $1.25 for your domain ($15 per year) ✅ $6 for a mailbox That’s $36.25/month. Now, the average reply rate is 1.9%. Out of 500 emails, that’s 9.5 replies. We’ll round it up to 10. Usually, 10-20% of the replies are positive. That brings us to up to 2 leads for 36.25/month = 🔥 $18.12 per lead 🔥 Compare that to: 🔹 $66.69 from search ads (per WordStream) 🔹 $15-$350 from LinkedIn ads (per Powered by Search) And the reason you can get such a good cost per lead is, among other things, this: 2️⃣ Not many other channels let you target prospects as precisely as cold email. (The three channels also go really well together.) The more precisely you target, the higher your response rate (and the number of leads) will get.     Stop writing cold emails about yourself. No one cares. As Patrick says, it's the least important thing is that you say more about yourself. Instead, focus on your prospect's world: • What challenges are they facing? • What goals are they trying to achieve? • How can your solution make their life easier? Remember: It's not about you, it's about THEM. Your cold emails should: • Show you've done your homework • Highlight a specific pain point • Offer a clear, valuable solution Make every word count for your prospect.
