Congratulations on your excellent work! 👏 The Universidade do Porto is represented by 182 researchers and professors on the list of the world's most cited scientists in 2023. This figure comes from the latest update of the "World’s Top 2% Scientists list", which annually ranks the world's most cited scientists in their respective fields, according to SCOPUS, the world's largest database of abstracts and citations of scientific publications. On the list of the most impactful scientists in 2023, four I3A researchers/teachers stand out. Isabel Ferreira, Marcia carvalho, Sara Cunha and Susana Casal are included in this recently updated list of the world's top 2% of scientists. Three of these researchers are also among those who have had the greatest impact throughout their careers. 👩🔬👨🔬 Once again, congratulations to our team!

✴ What intense few days! ✴ Our team was busy organising and attending the 8th International Conference on Food Digestion (ICFD 2024) from 9 to 11 April. From the inspiring opening ceremony to the thrilling closing, these were days of ideas, collaborations and networking opportunities aplenty. Over 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ scientists came together to explore the frontiers of food digestion. Around 3️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ papers were presented, a huge contribution to our scientific community. ✨ The presentations were exceptional, offering new perspectives and innovative solutions to complex challenges in food digestion. It was particularly inspiring to see the adoption of interdisciplinary approaches, highlighting the collaborative effort needed to push the boundaries of our knowledge. Our sincere thanks to Chair Isabel Ferreira and Co-Chair Miguel Faria and the organising team. Without their work, the event would not have been a success 🎆. 📢 Words are not enough to thank Dr Didier Dupont and Infogest, and all the members of the Scientific Committee who gave their time and expertise to review the abstracts submitted (of which there were many and of excellent quality). Thanks to the speakers for their contributions and to all the participants for their stimulating questions and debates - Anwesha Sarkar, Manuela Pintado, Harjinder Singh, Andrea Gianotti and John Van Camp. 👏 👏 Thanks to our sponsors: H.E.L Group, LIPOLYTECH, Roquette, BIO-CAT Enzymes & Microbials, MiXscience, AnaBio Technologies, ITAU, Elsevier, Universidade do Porto and CruzLab.pt 🥁 A big thank you to all involved!
