President @ACS Center for Sustainability - Romanian Association for Sustainable Fuels | PhD in Business Administration
Honored to have participated as a speaker at the COP29 Azerbaijan event hosted by the Romanian-American University (Universitatea Româno-Americană din București) and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania. Firstly, I want to acknowledge the importance of COP29 and commend the Presidency of Azerbaijan for setting ambitious and actionable climate goals. Their leadership is instrumental in driving the climate agenda forward, and their commitment to tangible solutions is truly inspiring. I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our hosts, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania, His Excellency Mr. Ambassador @Gudsi Osmanov, Rector Costel Negriciea of the Romanian-American University. My warm regards and appreciation for Mrs. Ioana Maria Vasiliu, Energy Policy Group (EPG) Senior Researcher, for their dedication and vision. As the President of ACS Center for Sustainability the (Romanian Association for Sustainable Fuels), I shared insights on the role of sustainable fuels in our energy transition. We focused on how hydrogen, synthetic fuels, and renewable energy can contribute to achieving ambitious decarbonization targets, particularly in sectors where electrification is challenging. Key topics included: ☀️ Regional collaboration for sustainable infrastructure: From energy corridors to cross-border hydrogen projects, there is immense potential for Eastern Europe and Central Asia to build an integrated, resilient infrastructure. We need to bridge partnerships that support a holistic green transition. ⚙️ Policies that empower green action: It’s imperative to back up our climate pledges with policies that enhance ambition and enable real change. Regulatory frameworks, like the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), are key enablers of this transformation. My discussion highlighted how we are implementing these policies in Romania to support the development of charging and hydrogen fueling infrastructure. ⚡️ The energy transition's social impact: As we pave the way for sustainable energy, ensuring that every community benefits is paramount. The discussion included Romania’s rural infrastructure projects for biological waste upcycling, which can drive local economic development and create green jobs. ☘️ ACS will continue to be involved in COP29 Azerbaijan, with hopes this new edition will yet again contribute to our future. Let’s keep pushing for real action that turns climate ambition into sustainable practices for all our countries. #COP29 #GreenFuture #SustainableFuels #HydrogenEconomy #Romania #Azerbaijan #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #PolicyForChange #SustainableDevelopment #GreenJobs #RegionalCollaboration #ClimateAction #Decarbonization 🌱🌍🛠️
