According to a 2019 report by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the concentration of particulate matter in the western Balkans is up to five times higher than what is allowed by national and EU regulations. Serbia is one of the most energy-intensive countries in Europe and is obliged to significantly reduce the emissions from its coal power plants, by using advanced technologies, relying on the renewable energy sources, energy efficiency measures, as well as automation and digitalization of production processes. This creates great potential for German companies that offer replacement solutions for fossil fuels, carbon management, technologies for the carbon capture and storage, air protection and noise reduction, etc. Having this in mind, we invite you to attend the conference “Decarbonization in the industry - air protection and noise reduction“ that will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 starting at 10 a.m. at hotel Mona Plaza in Belgrade! 📢 Explore the agenda for our conference: https://lnkd.in/dzpj4ntE and confirm your presence via ➡️ Registration link: https://lnkd.in/d33Pv684 During the conference and the following panel discussion, participants will have the opportunity to hear about sustainability and CO2 footprint from the EU and Serbian’s perspectives and to familiarize themselves with CBAM and German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and its implications, especially in the terms of fair working conditions, environmental risks and violations of human rights in the industry environment. Special value is the presentation of technologies and products of German companies that are leaders in this field, as well as B2B meetings that will be organized at the end of the conference. This project is organized by the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Serbien) (AHK Serbia), in cooperation with the AHK Nordmazedonien I АХК Северна Македонија and Goduni International GmbH, on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and it provides the support of #SMEs from Germany in positioning themselves and establishing new business contacts in both countries. #PartnerInSerbia

𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: Sustainable road transport and green logistics at the conference TRANSIT TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY – FUTURE OF THE TRANSPORTATION IN SERBIA, organization by Wireless Media Group The focus of the panel discussion was the implementation of sustainability principles in logistics, the role of digitalization and smart solutions, the necessity of green investments and the application of AI in logistics. In the role of moderator, our colleague Jasmina Trbović, talked with Damir Ledenčan (Head of Road Transport Department, Ministry for Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure), Dr Milorad Kilibarda (Dean of Traffic Engineering Faculty), Nedim Begovicć (representative of Transport Community) and Velizar Perunovicć (Director of Sales, Milsped). Jasmina Trbović opened the discussion by saying “Today, as we face massive environmental challenges, sustainability in transport has become the key topic. Road transport, as one of the main CO2 emitters, must transform to reduce negative environmental impact. Green logistics means implementing environmentally acceptable practices while smart solutions play a key role in improving efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of logistics operations” The panel was followed by the presentation on the Logistics, Transport and Customs Committee of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Serbien), held by Filip Simovic, Chairperson of the Committee, emphasizing that: “Despite progress, challenges such as border delays and regulatory disagreements remain. The Committee addresses these issues by working closely with customs authorities to implement more efficient procedures and providing practical solutions to member companies to overcome these challenges. New topics and challenges for non-EU countries, such as the introduction of a new entry control system at the EU's borders, are what the Committee focuses on and on which companies work together, sharing information and starting initiatives. We will continue to work towards sustainable solutions and improvement of our transport system”. #PartnerInSerbia
