At the #Mission300 Africa Energy Summit, during the panel "The Role of International Partners in the Acceleration of Energy Transformation," H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser addressed Africa’s energy crisis: 600M people lack electricity, impacting education, healthcare, and economic growth. 💬 "When COVID-19 hit, 1.5-2 billion children couldn’t access education—not because of the internet, but because they lacked electricity." H.E. Dr. Al Jasser called for immediate action, emphasizing that energy is the backbone of progress and vital to delivering reliable electricity to underserved regions. At the Panel, H.E. Dr. Al Jasser announced #IsDB Group’s USD 4.65 billion pledge for #Mission300: ✅ $2.65B in financing. ✅ $2B in insurance to catalyze private investment. 💬 "We are bullish on Africa’s future and committed to doing more." He stressed the importance of regulatory reforms: 💬 "Regulatory regimes must encourage private sector participation. On the sidelines of the #Mission300 Africa Energy Summit, #IsDB President H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser met with Mr. Rémy Rioux, CEO of Agence Française de Développement to review progress on the extended MoU. Their discussions centered on scaling up collaboration, enhancing co-financing, and optimizing project execution. Moreover, they discussed the prospect of secondment of staff which would strengthen institutional ties through knowledge-sharing.

On the sidelines of the African Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, #IsDB President H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser engaged in strategic discussions with Dr. Rajiv J. Shah, President, and senior leaders of The Rockefeller Foundation. The meeting focused on exploring cooperation between the two institutions including advancing Mission 300’s goal of delivering energy access to 300 million people by 2030. They also discussed the possibilities of leveraging concessional finance, and fostering inclusive and sustainable growth.

The #IsDB Group Board of Governors successfully concluded a high-level consultative meeting in #Madinah to finalize the IsDB Group’s 10-Year Strategy Framework (2026–2035). This pivotal meeting facilitated strategic discussions to define the Group’s vision, refine its role, and set its priorities to address the evolving needs of its 57 member countries. We extend our profound gratitude to our esteemed Governors for their thoughtful deliberations and steadfast commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive development. At Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) HQ today, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, #IsDB Group Chairman, hosted a delegation led by Hon. Ahmed Hussen Canadian Minister of International Development. #IsDB launched the first edition of the Scholarship Forum 2024, with the theme “Enhancing IsDB Scholarship Programs.” For the first time, this landmark event brought together scholarship providers, experts, donors, and scholarship beneficiaries from 25 countries on a dynamic platform to foster dialogue, collaboration, and exchange inspiring experiences in human capital development. The Forum marked a significant milestone in IsDB efforts to enhance the effectiveness efficiency and long-term impact of IsDB scholarship programs, benefiting IsDB member countries and Muslim communities worldwide.
