A big honor for Amferia to recieve this recognition from Chalmers University of Technology. Thank you for all your support since the beginning and for continuing the support throughout our journey. Amferia is proud to be a spinf-off company from Chalmers Research😊
What a journey! Six years ago, former doctoral students Anand Kumar Rajasekharan and Saba Atefyekta, along with Professor Martin Andersson set out to bring their research on antimicrobial materials, which are aimed at combating resistant bacteria and reducing antibiotic to usage. Together, they founded the startup Amferia. Today, products using this technology is making a real impact in animal wound care in several countries and there are plans to make it accessible also for human health care. Tuesday 5 November, at Chalmers tekniska högskola's "årshögtid" Amferia received Chalmers Impact Award for societal impact with the following motivation: "Amferia is based on groundbreaking research by Professor Martin Andersson, Saba Atefyekta and Anand Kumar Rajasekharan. Through a well-planned utilisation process, the team has laid the foundation for important impact in society. Their antimicrobial materials have improved the quality of life for animals and have been successfully evaluated in over 200 case studies in several European countries. The launched products are currently available in eight European countries. Research and development is now underway to launch the technology for use on humans. It will revolutionize the work of fighting infections without contributing to antibiotic resistance." Congratulations and thanks for your inspirational work in using chemistry and chemical engineering research to solve difficult and global challenges.
