I want to share an important update on the situation in Lebanon, where our emergency taskforce has been working tirelessly on the ground this past week in Beirut and other affected areas. We've visited shelters and camps where displaced families have sought refuge, and where some of us continue to live under the daily threat of bombings. During our assessments, we’ve witnessed heartbreaking conditions: schools turned into shelters, overflowing with families who fled their homes with just a single backpack. In some shelters, wastewater is flowing dangerously close to where people sleep. These spaces were never meant to accommodate this many people, and the situation grows more critical as winter approaches. Many families are still on the streets, without shelter or basic necessities. We are officially launching the donation link to support these families. Nervous about the US election? Here's what you can do👇 Only 8% of Americans abroad vote, while 66% of Americans in the US do. There is a huge potential to help our American friends use their vote. 🌍 If you know an American living abroad: ● Talk to them non-judgementally about voting ● Show them websites like votefromabroad.org or votersabroad.org that make it easier to vote ● Remind them that abroad voting requires early action (ballot-day is September 19th) And let's make sure they know that their voices matter. Because they do! ✊️

The World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community represents a significant force for positive change, comprising 18,000 young leaders driving action in over 500 hubs across 154 countries. With a focus on building youth leaders, accelerating youth action and amplifying youth voices, the Global Shapers Community has seen significant achievements this year. From training 1,800 changemakers in leadership skills to 1,000 Global Shapers becoming certified climate action leaders through our partnership with The Climate Reality Project, the Global Shapers Community is building a more inclusive and sustainable world for generations to come. Vladislav Kaim, the former UN SG Adviser, now a speaker and keynote of LCOY! Vladislav is a youth sustainability and climate advocate, and has been serving as a Young European Ambassador since 2018. Vladislav has been involved in youth work on climate and sustainable development goals from late 2014 and has been actively involved in the work of multiple global youth constituencies. In 2019, Vladislav was invited by the United Nations Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth to help organise the first UN Youth Climate Summit in New York. Since 2020, Vladislav has been serving his mandate as the UN Secretary General’s Youth Advisor on Climate Change, with his most recent assignment being representation of youth interests at the UN High-Level Dialogue on Energy platform.
