  • 🌍 On International Women's Day, March 8th, we celebrate the extraordinary progress made and resilience of women worldwide. Women have come a long way in their pursuit of gender equality, overcoming numerous challenges. Yet, the path ahead still holds challenges that require our collective effort and determination. 📈 The increase in women taking on decision-making roles across various countries is both inspiring and pivotal. In Moldova, women’s participation increased from 45.2% in 2020 to 47.3% in 2022. In Armenia it rose from 24% to 35.5%, while Ukraine experiences a significant jump from 7.8% to 20.9%. These are more than just numbers; they tell a story of resilience and opportunity, highlighting women’s growing influence in shaping societal structures. 🙌 Despite these advances, challenges remain, such as barriers to employment and workforce inequalities. 🚀 Yet, women continue to rise as leaders and innovators, demonstrating incredible determination and strength. Their increasing involvement in economic sectors highlights their critical role in driving positive change. Our Green Agenda initiative champions a sustainable and fair transition by addressing key policy issues. We help to reshape the economy by promoting renewable energy investments, incentivizing sustainable industry practices, and fostering economic policies that empower women. Our goal is to help create resilient economies that harmonise environmental responsibility with social equity for enduring and inclusive benefits. 🤝 On this Women's Day, let’s commit to promoting gender equality in our everyday lives. By empowering women, we uplift communities and build stronger nations. Together, we can shape a world where every woman’s contribution is valued. 🎉 Happy Women's Day! cc SEI — Stockholm Environment Institute
