The transition to #CleanAviation isn’t just about technological breakthroughs—it’s also about shaping policies that foster #innovation and drive progress. I’ve just returned from an inspiring and productive few days in #Brussels, where I attended Clean Aviation’s Annual Forum 2025. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, including Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research, and Innovation. I also had the pleasure of meeting with industry peers, including Ivor van Dartel (CEO & Founder) and Markus Kochs-Kämper (CTO) of VÆRIDION, as well as Daniel Rosen Jacobson and Rob Wolleswinkel (Co-Founders & CEOs of Elysian Aircraft) and Bastiaan De Bruijne. Additionally, I connected with Antoine TOULEMONT, European Affairs Advisor at AURA-AERO, to discuss the future of #SustainableAviation. Exciting times ahead for clean aviation in #Europe! The European Regions Airline Association has launched an updated #Destination2050 roadmap. 🌍 Despite global challenges, Europe’s aviation industry remains committed to net zero by 2050. New technology is key, alongside SAF, to making it happen. Two policy recommendations from the report really hit home for us at Heart Aerospace: 🔹 Boosting R&D through Clean Aviation JU – Innovation needs strong public-private partnerships and serious funding. 🔹 Expanding industrial financing for decarbonisation tech – Bringing electric and hybrid propulsion to market takes time and capital.
