THIS is the technology we expected to see by 2030...electric flight ✈️ ⚡️ Electric planes may seem like a thing of the future, but thanks to Kevin Noertker, it's a lot closer to reality than you think 🤔 Ampaire is a company that is decarbonizing airways with their hybrid propulsion systems. The electric motor works well for takeoff using it's high thrust and the conventional motors are used for cruising. This leads to a ~50% reduction in fuel costs and a roughly 20% reduction in overall aircraft operating expenses 🤯. That's cleaner AND cheaper flight, a win-win 🥇 Kevin joined us on CleanTechies to break it all down 💥 s.o. to Silas for this ep Check out the full episode with the link below on Substack, or listen wherever you get your podcasts by searching "Kevin Noertker, CleanTechies" 🎧 #electricplanes #EV #climatetech

Airbus’s ZEROe project is set to bring hydrogen-powered commercial aircraft to market by 2035. Developing a hydrogen-powered aircraft is already a major technical challenge, but the complexity extends beyond the aircraft itself. What sets ZEROe apart is its holistic approach: while most aircraft programs focus solely on technical development, ZEROe also requires the creation of a new ecosystem for operation. This includes building cryogenic storage systems for hydrogen at -253°C, redesigning airport infrastructure, and establishing new fuel supply chains. In a recent conversation, Karine GUENAN, Vice President of ZEROe ecosystem at Airbus, shared insights into the unprecedented ecosystem development that is needed to make ZEROe a reality.
