Folket och juryn har sagt sitt och KOASTAL utsågs till årets Änglamarksprisvinnare vid en ceremoni i Stockholm på onsdagen. Prissumman är på 250 000 kronor. – Vi är jättetacksamma över priset och att Coop och Änglamarksfamiljerna har uppmärksammat Koastal. Det här priset öppnar nya dörrar för oss och det innebär att vi kan öppna tre nya tångodlingar under nästa år, säger vinnarna Samuel Amant, grundare av Koastal och Trygve Halvard Zierul, commercial and strategy Koastal. #änglamarkspriset #koastal #coop

KOASTAL needs your vote! It is a great honour to be a finalist at the Änglamarkspriset, which aims to support innovators with 250.000kr for a brighter future! Not nothing! The prize money is enough to buy equipment for 3 (!) new pilot farms, which fishers can use to learn the ropes of seaweed farming and start diversifying their income. In the process, KOASTAL helps them with site selection, permits, education and marketing of the production. These pilot farms will each produce 5 tons of food yearly, form a new source of income for fishers, and provide ecosystem services. A small first step, a needed one! With five seaweed farms in the waters around Bohuslän, Sweden, and one more coming later this fall, KOASTAL is officially kicking off its community of seaweed farms. Together with fishers and sea enthusiasts as farmers, KOASTAL is building up cost-efficient seaweed production using a collaborative network of small-scale farms to feed the future. And these first pilot farms are the first step in that direction. Tack så jättemycket to everyone involved!
