Looking back five years from now – what are your thoughts about the expectations we had then and where we are today? On October 28th it’s been five years since we launched OnceMore. During this month we will highlight some of the colleagues that has been with us from the start. Say Hi to Ida Fager Stark, Communication Manager OnceMore. 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘄 – 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆? I started working with OnceMore almost six months after its launch in 2019. Back then, we dreamed of the day when we could walk into a store and buy a garment with a OnceMore tag. Today, we have more than a handful of brands that have produced clothes with a OnceMore tag. For me, that’s huge! I’m so proud to be part of this journey, both in building a new brand from the ground up and in being part of something that I truly believe will make a difference, Ida Fager Stark.

As part of our 5th anniversary, we invited people from the entire value chain to the Swedish forest and our mill in Mörrum, where we produce OnceMore. We began our journey in the forest at Anton's estate, one of our Södra members'. Together with Forest Inspectors Andreas and Olivia, the owner showed us around. His forest estate has been in his family for generations, dating back to the 1600s. Next, we continued to the mill in Mörrum, where Ann and Malin guided us through the facility and explained the production process. - Bringing together people across the value chain feels both special and important. We are proud of what we do and the product that comes out of our operation. As the first part of the chain, it feels important to share our work so that everyone knows where the raw material comes from, says Madeleine Bernhard, Business Development Manager at OnceMore.

During this month we will highlight some of the colleagues that has been with us from the start. Say Hi to Anna Palme, Specialist Cellulose Technology. Looking back five years from now – what are your thoughts about the expectations we had then and where we are today? It has been a wild ride, I could never have guessed that we would have come so far in just five years. In a project as this, where nothing is business as usual, I’m constantly surprised about what is hard and what is easy. Some of the topics I thought would be the most challenging solved very easily and the opposite. Most of all I’m so happy about working with all the dedicated people in the OnceMore team, Anna Palme.

The use of textile waste in OnceMore® avoids the disposal of 0.75kg of textiles per kg of dissolving pulp produced. This significantly impacts climate change and eutrophication indicators for the pulp. While OnceMore® pulp production is a small part of the overall viscose fiber impact, it offers substantial environmental benefits. Read our Environmental Impact Report: https://lnkd.in/eQ5UwYvX

We run nearly our entire operation on renewable energy. The energy is generated in our mills and comes from our members’ wood. Additionally, our industrial operations produce a large surplus of green energy, which is sold to external customers in the form of renewable electricity, district heating, and solid biofuels. Today, more than 99% of the energy used in our mills is renewable. Our greenhousegas emission reduction target, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative, is to lower our emissions by 50% by 2030. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eQ5UwYvX

We are turning five and entering October in full celebration mode! On October 28th, it will be five years since we introduced OnceMore to the market. We conducted our very first test in April 2019 with just 500 kg of pulp, and in September, we completed the first large-scale test with 19 tonnes of pulp. The test was successful, producing high-quality results, and the first volumes of OnceMore pulp were sold on the market. On October 28th, we issued our first press release with the headline: Södra’s breakthrough will enable large-scale textile recycling.
