"Att vi kombinerar innovation och hållbarhet var nog det som imponerade mest på juryn. Och att vi har hittat en konkret lösning på ett problem som många länder i Europa kan relatera till", säger Charlie Arby, vd för Gralg UF. Genom UF-företag får gymnasieelever testa att starta, driva och avveckla ett företag under ett läsår. Varje år driver ungefär var tredje gymnasieelev UF-företag och i år startade rekordmånga UF-företag, 38 824 gymnasieelever. SEB Asset Management is joining 69 other international financial institutions calling on petrochemical companies to reduce fossil fuel dependency and eliminating hazardous chemicals in plastics. The combined assets under management and under administration for these 70 financial institutions is USD 6.8 trillion. Petrochemical companies are a major contributor to plastic production and with plastic production set to triple by 2060, petrochemical companies will become the primary driver of oil demand growth. Under a business-as-usual scenario, plastic leakage into the environment and associated health costs are projected to rise significantly. These projections highlight significant plastics-related risks for petrochemical companies, encompassing regulatory, reputational, litigation, and increased consumer demand for safe and more sustainable products. These risks are financially material for corporates and their investors, and necessitates proactive corporate action. Therefore, we request petrochemical companies producing plastic polymers to: 1. Disclose and define strategies 2. Address toxic polymers and chemicals 3. Develop sustainable infrastructure 4. Establish governance 5. Have you heard about Alida Rossander? On July 5th 1864 she became the first female bank employee when she started working at SEB. Her employer and the bank’s founder and CEO, André Oscar Wallenberg, did not think her employment would meet any obstacles in accordance with the board meeting protocol because “women’s sense of order, honesty and perseverance could in no way be underestimated less than men.” By 1880, sixteen women had been employed by the bank and in the year 1906, a photograph is taken at the office on Stureplan, with women representing ten of the 43 employees. Today we would express ourselves differently, but diversity and inclusion are still of high importance to us. We continue writing history.
