For the younger generation, understanding the science of socio-ecological sustainability is crucial for ensuring the sustenance of our environment, society, and economy in the long term. Integrating the science of socio-ecological sustainability into economic #education equips future leaders with the knowledge, methodologies, and tools to make informed and impactful decisions. This fosters critical thinking and a deep understanding of how our actions today influence the world of tomorrow, highlighting the connections between human activity, ecological health, and economic stability. As the EU elections approach, it's vital for the younger generation to recognize the power of their vote. By choosing leaders committed to #sustainability, we can enact policies that protect our planet and promote social and economic well-being. Take this opportunity to be a change-maker. For a few years now, SGA has been delighted to receive regular visits from Bachelor and Master students from the USA to talk to them about our work on the strategic transformation of companies towards full sustainability. This was the case again yesterday when I spoke to a group of young bachelor students from the University of Tennessee about topics such as the Human Development Index #HDI, Ecological Footprint #EFP, #PlanetaryBoundaries, Whole Systems Thinking, Sustainability Principles, Back-casting, etc., and most importantly, why all this is essential for the future business success of companies, and how this can be achieved. Unsurprisingly, the importance of courageous, decisive, integrative leadership came up yet again. For me, these events are personal highlights of my work at SGA. For decades generations, including mine, have been meeting their needs, while compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. There’s a huge opportunity but also a fundamental necessity to change this behavior and the underlying mindset. I, we will not stop doing our entrepreneurial part to achieve this. That’s why we connect with and encourage the younger generation to challenge businesses to become a force for good.
