Leadership change announcement   Effective November 1, 2024. Pierre Cheyron, Managing Director, Energy Solutions, AMEA will lead Energy Solutions in the region, while Varun Gujral, CEO, Global Energy Management & Sales APAC has been appointed as Country Head for ENGIE in Southeast Asia. Both appointments follow the departure of Thomas Baudlot, who will be relocating to France to take on a new role as the Chief Digital & IT Officer for Energy Solutions GBU.   Under Thomas’ leadership, ENGIE has driven significant regional growth, advancing transformative decarbonisation initiatives for our clients. By uniting the strengths of our diverse Business Units (ENGIE Impact, ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales, ENGIE Lab Singapore, ENGIE Factory, RED Engineering Design), we have delivered comprehensive solutions and impactful outcomes, positioning ENGIE as an industry leader.   As we celebrate Thomas’ remarkable contributions and wish him success in his new role, we warmly welcome Pierre and Varun into their new positions. We have completed one of our largest solar photovoltaic projects in Singapore!   This solar installation involves more than 20,000 solar panels and powers buildings across the National University of Singapore's Kent Ridge Campus and UTown. With a capacity of 9.2 MWp, the green energy generated is equivalent to reducing approximately 4,151 tons of CO2 annually.   We celebrated this milestone with a special commissioning ceremony, alongside our partners who made it possible.   Since its start in 2020, this project has achieved more than 150,000 safe man-hours. ENGIE has signed a 19-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to deliver 10MW of renewable energy from JTC Corporation SolarRoof Programme (Phase 4 Pack 1) and additional renewable energy of up to 10MW from ENGIE’s asset, supporting their transition to 100% renewable energy upon full commissioning. This joint effort with ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and their consultant Schneider Electric draws the combined expertise of all stakeholders to ensure the effective structuring and finalisation of the VPPA.   With VPPAs offering a clear pathway to clean energy, the agreement marks a significant step in helping corporations achieve their sustainability goals and reduce carbon footprints. We recently participated in the Malaysia Medtech Industry Summit 2024 in Penang, organised by the Association of Malaysian Medical Industries (AMMI).   Our Head of Regional Business Development, Guillaume D., and Head of Business Development for Industry, Daowei Lin, along with our team of experts in Malaysia Kit Hang Tan, Daxino LIM, Shyne Loong SONG and Max Choong engaged in discussions around #ESG in #Medtech and showcased ENGIE’s integrated solutions for energy efficiency. Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Geert Bunkens, AMEA Regional Hub Vice President and AMEA Finance Vice President, to our Singapore office. During his visit, he engaged with our corporate teams to align on strategic objectives and explore new opportunities for growth. He also visited one of ENGIE South East Asia’s flagship assets—a multiple on-site utilities generation facility that produces essential utilities to support our client’s pharmaceutical production process, where he had insightful interactions with the operations team.
