FERTILITY - Is it all about babies? When we talk about fertility, we think about making babies and our desire to start a family. But it is not all about that! Fertility does not define a person's worth but it could show a person's health - and in that case, the possibilities of a global health condition. Currently, more than 100 countries out of 204 countries have a fertility rate below the replacement rate, and it is predicted by 2100, 198 countries will be under. While many speak about their right over their bodies and the government raises concern about economy, as an individual, a decreasing fertility rate should be a great alarm on what we need to put our attention to - our fertility - just like how other chronic diseases make us a little more worry and a little more aware. In the next 5 days, we will be discussing in depth what is the real meaning of fertility and what it means by exercising our right through taking control of it - even if babies is not in the picture. Menopause represents a significant transition in a woman's life, often bringing a range of symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. While hot flashes receive considerable attention, the impact of sleep disturbances during this phase warrants equal focus. These disruptions can drastically affect a woman’s quality of life, leading to chronic fatigue and diminished daily functioning. To effectively address sleep disturbances in menopausal women, it's crucial to look beyond hot flashes. Acknowledging the broader spectrum of menopause-related issues that contribute to poor sleep quality can lead to more comprehensive strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall well-being. #femtech #sleep #insomnia #menopause #heyvenus

Ovarian aging is a natural process that profoundly affects women's health, yet its impacts often go unnoticed until symptoms become more pronounced. As women age, the gradual decline in ovarian function leads to hormonal shifts that influence not only reproductive health but also a wide range of physical and mental well-being factors. From changes in bone density and cardiovascular health to cognitive function and mood regulation, the effects of ovarian aging are far-reaching. HeyVenus Integrated Healthscience explores these hidden impacts, highlighting the importance of early awareness and proactive management to mitigate potential health risks and improve overall quality of life during this transitional phase. Understanding the intricate link between ovarian aging and various aspects of women's health is crucial for fostering better #selfcare, #medical interventions, and societal #support systems.

🤔 Reflecting on Menopause Through an Intersectional Lens I had the privilege of attending the What the Fog event, organized by the incredible Lisa Tarquini RNutr Licensed Menopause Champion. It was a truly eye-opening experience! The panelists were knowledgeable, engaging, and brought forward diverse perspectives on menopause. And let’s not forget the perfect touch of humour from the talented comedian who left us laughing in stitches, Maitreyi Karanth! 🎤 Today, I would like to share one of the key takeaways from the event - the importance of understanding menopause not just as a biological process, but through the lived experiences of individuals with ADHD, those in the transgender community, and those dealing with conditions like endometriosis. I learned so much from Noelle Sinclair, MBA Lesther Kelly Libarios Nikki Davies Emery Fung, a panel beautifully moderated by Kate Wood. This intersectional lens is crucial because each of these factors deeply affects how menopause is experienced and managed. Whether it’s the impact of hormonal shifts on ADHD symptoms, the unique journey of transgender individuals navigating menopause, or the challenges of managing endometriosis, these stories remind us why inclusive healthcare is vital. 💬 Let’s start a conversation: How can we create better support systems that reflect these diverse experiences?

What do you think of when you hear cortisol? Does it worry you? 😟 For many, cortisol is the "stress hormone." But what if I told you cortisol is actually like the conductor of an orchestra 🎶—vital for your resilience and health? Ok, but how is this connected to a zebra doing yoga? 🦓🧘♀️ Dr. Robert Sapolsky’s book Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers 📚 offers some fascinating insights into why stress impacts us so differently compared to animals.
