When I ask people about their thoughts on the private markets, most people I meet tend to say the same thing: Private credit is becoming more popular, private equity has a long track record of outperformance and infrastructure is a great asset for stable yield. #SFF2023: We're thrilled to share that we’ve launched Libeara, our tokenization platform democratizing investments. In partnership with FundBridge Capital, Libeara will aid the creation of the 1st tokenized Singapore Dollar Government Bond Fund for investors! In celebration, we partnered with the Singapore British High Commission to host a #digitalassets focused event. Our group CEO Bill Winters, British High Commissioner to Singapore Kara Owen, and Alex Manson opened the session: addressing the potential of real-world asset #tokenization to drive financial inclusion and the evolving regulatory landscape. Highlighting the strong linkages between UK and Singapore and our shared commitment to support entrepreneurship, they emphasized the importance of close #partnerships to advance a compliant and mature ecosystem. Here are our key takeaways across the panels: 🚀 Tokenization promises to open up the world of investing to previously inaccessible assets. The investment market has traditionally relied on heavily favoured intermediaries and inefficient operational processes. By breaking down these barriers, tokenization has the potential to democratize finance, lowering operating costs and providing higher transparency and operational efficiency. 🚀 There’s a huge opportunity to scale. To get there, it’ll take a safe and trusted infrastructure, bringing incumbent players and existing asset classes across the curve, and learning to engage with both tradfi and defi. Regulations need to be in place, and risk management will also be critical. With radical accessibility and widespread adoption comes new risks - issuers and intermediaries will need visibility, the ability to monitor and manage and intervene early. 🚀 Through it all, partnerships are critical. FIs, as regulated institutions, have responsibility to engage with clients and regulators in dialogues to shape this space. Going forward, we can all play a role by building our competencies in tools and risks around digital assets, and being a part of the conversation. As we continue to navigate the world of digital assets, we’re making investments such as Libeara to understand how the space is evolving, and how best we can support the ecosystem.
