When physical boundaries dissolve, opportunities for #collaboration can flourish. During their visit to #PunggolDigitalDistrict (PDD), Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA)’s International Panel of Experts (IPE) observed how architectural design enables natural connections between industry and academia. The seamless integration of business and academia spaces, alongside public amenities and green spaces, creates an environment where different communities converge and creative collisions happen naturally. "The future of industrial space planning lies in creating complete communities. By optimising space through mixed-uses and embracing a '5-min city' concept, we can build spaces where both innovation and community thrive together, enhanced by new technologies that transform how we connect." - Professor Philipp Bouteiller, PhD, IPE member. Through thoughtful space planning and design, PDD demonstrates how breaking down physical barriers can transform the future of industrial spaces, enabling meaningful exchanges between businesses, academia, and the #community. We look forward to more conversations about the future of industrial spaces.
