#Throwback to an inspiring design thinking workshop with students from Hwa Chong Institution, where we explored how creativity and critical problem-solving can shape Singapore’s future. By deepening their understanding of our nation’s unique challenges and opportunities, students worked firsthand on a specially crafted brief from us and learned how innovation, adaptability, and sustainability can drive meaningful change. We hope this experience sparked a greater appreciation for Singapore’s journey and empowered them to contribute to their communities and beyond. NOK is glad to be part of the mission to groom the next generation of innovative leaders and thinkers. Thank you Caracol AM for the feature! We are glad to share more about our collaboration, where innovation meets craftsmanship. 🌱✨ With the Stacked Modules project, we explored how advanced robotic manufacturing—powered by #HeronAM can come together with traditional weaving techniques. Using durable leather ropes to bind additive-produced structures, we’re showing that sustainability and character can go hand in hand. At NextOfKin Creatives, we constantly pushing the boundaries of design by blending technology with craft. 🚀 Inspiring Possibilities through Human-Centred Design & Prototyping At SingHealth Duke-NUS Quality & Innovation Day (CIQ) 2025, Rodney Loh challenged attendees to think boldly—embracing human-centred design and prototyping as a way to drive impactful change in healthcare. Through projects like Silver Pride Lion Troupe, we’ve seen how tapping into culture and nostalgia can transform the ageing experience, empowering seniors, both ambulant and wheelchair-bound to stay active, social, and engaged. But innovation doesn’t happen without risk. Rodney left attendees with this thought: Be bold. Fail fast. Succeed faster. Because real change starts when we dare to experiment and push boundaries. Let’s shape the future of healthcare together. 🔍 BEHIND THE DESIGN Did you know that 45% of fabric offcuts are generated by factories during production? Most end up in incinerators or landfills—but what if they didn’t have to? What if these offcuts could be given a second life? We explored this idea through our project Rethinking Fabric Waste, working with offcuts provided by Mobella Galleria. By deconstructing and reconstructing discarded textiles, we experimented with textures, forms, and applications that push the boundaries of upcycling fabric offcuts. Curious to know what we made? 👇 Watch this Video! If you’re passionate about sustainable design and product innovation, let’s create something impactful together. Reach out at studio@nok.design.
