We are delighted to attend the Company of Good Connect! Series and be part of this incredible community. Our team listened to insightful presentations from NVPC - Towards a City of Good, Singapore Business Federation, Semula Pte Ltd, an environment-focused social enterprise, and nonprofits activating the community to support animal welfare and care education. 💡 Some key takeaways: 1. Join the Company of Good Community 💙 This community offers valuable resources, including training, networking opportunities, and best practices to help businesses in Singapore enhance their social impact initiatives. We particularly appreciate the vibrant ecosystem fostered by this event, which encourages collaboration among like-minded companies committed to doing good for society. Best of all, it's free to join! We highly recommend it if you want to learn, engage, and connect with others who share a passion for positive change. Check them out here. https://lnkd.in/g_rYDb4h 2. Find Social Enterprise Partners for Your Sustainability Commitment 👯♀️ While sustainability and climate reporting are critical in Singapore, it's equally important to find innovative ways to activate these commitments. Collaborating with social enterprises like Semula, which champions a zero-waste future by transforming waste materials like plastic into reusable resources, is a great starting point. Engaging with their initiatives, attending workshops, and exploring their services can inspire new ways to create a positive environmental impact. Learn more about their services here. https://lnkd.in/gS89pTya 3. Support Animal Welfare and Education Initiatives 🦄 Animal welfare is a crucial area where businesses and individuals can make a significant difference. The event highlighted nonprofits working tirelessly to promote animal care and welfare education in our communities. We encourage businesses to explore opportunities to support these nonprofits through volunteering, donations, or collaborative projects. Our Connect! Series brings ecosystem players together to form connections between corporate and community partners, and Session 2 yesterday welcomed almost 50 participants for discussions framed around nature and the environment. Covering the themes of recycling, wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability, organisations such as ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society), Gardens by the Bay, Sustainable Living Lab (SL2), D2L.sg and more shed light on challenges and opportunities in the space, and how companies can contribute—as ESG performance gains traction not only in regulatory requirements, but public awareness as well. Singapore Business Federation's ESG Coordination Office covered ESG trends that businesses need to take note of, and how Corporate Purpose can be a key enabler of future-readiness. Besides exploring possibilities for collaboration, UN Global Compact Network Singapore shared about LowCarbonSG, its capability-building programme to enable local businesses to measure and reduce their carbon emissions. Semula Pte Ltd also demonstrated how it helps to draw the plastics life cycle closer to circularity, processing and repurposing plastic waste into uniquely designed furniture, tableware and gifts.
