Last Friday, my team and I guided the Health Strategy and Policy Institute (Ministry of Health) on the regulatory impact assessment process. I was really glad to see the enthusiasm that the Institute espoused when working on our case study, designed to help learners fully grasp the 4 steps of the RIA process. Hopefully our effort will contribute to sound healthcare policy in the future!

We were pleased to host a lunch and talk with Professor Kishore Mahbubani, a celebrated author and well-known commentator on international affairs. During the session, Prof. Mahbubani discussed his newly published autobiography, “Living the Asian Century: An Undiplomatic Memoir”, and shared insights on global geopolitics in an era of great power competition.

Vriens & Partners and the Southeast Asia Public Policy Institute (SEAPPI) were pleased to jointly organize an online briefing on the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), ahead of the Bali round of negotiations next week. Ed Ratcliffe, Executive Director of SEAPPI, moderated the session and provided insights from SEAPPI's recent report, Demystifying DEFA: Policy and Political Drivers Across ASEAN (August 2024).
