The APAC Construction Cost Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of estimates and cost targets for all Data Center builds in the region. This role will be concentrated on Data Centers within region and special projects globally and will entail Cost Estimating as the overall role. The Estimator will manage all cost estimates, cost data, communications, schedule meetings and be a point of contact between internal and external parties for specific projects or regions being supported. The Estimator will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, security, networking, and operations teams throughout each project and ensure cost information developed and managed meet the requirements of those specific project needs. This person will report directly to the Director of APAC Estimating and will have frequent interactions with the Strategic team, Regional or Project leads within the Estimating group.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop all Estimates and cost analysis for the region and projects assigned.
Support the development and updating of existing and new technology Plan of Records.
Provide regular report outs and reviews with partner teams, internal and senior leadership regarding the scope, schedule and budgets for the regions assigned.
Support the ongoing updates of the Campus and Regional Cost targets for the region assigned.
Partner collaboratively with cross-functional teams (design engineering, construction, cost controls functions, scheduling, finance, etc.) to understand requirements and ensure alignment to scope, schedule, and budget.
Knowledge, Experience And Skills
Years of experience – 7-10 years relevant field, clear understanding of construction lifecycle.
Possess experience in construction project types such as infra, data centre, oil & gas projects.
Minimum Degree in Quantity Surveying or related qualification. Candidates with Civil Engineering degree having QS related experience will be considered.
Must possess a clear understanding of the full Construction Life Cycle
Capable of performing all types of estimates, from parametric to bottoms-up and high-level “what-if” scenarios.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of the estimating process and its alignment with organizational goals.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills demonstrated by work samples.
Understand the impacts of time and location on construction costs and actively incorporate these factors into estimates.
Develop, maintain, and report out on project scope, schedule, and cost as the main driver in those conversations.
Ability to present using the MS Office Suite, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
Strong analytical, creative thinking, written, and verbal communications skills.
Cross-group collaboration and influence across teams and organizations with proven success in participating in cross-functional teams to deliver on key projects.
Able to work within a dynamic team of full-time employees and consultants.
