Govar is a free English conversation club and a talking app where you can easily find language partners and talk to users of your level from different countries. Thousands of users from all over the world have already improved their speaking skills by talking to each other. Why will Govar help you practise speaking English? 1. Improve your spoken English. The best way to improve your spoken English is to talk with other people. This will help your brain start thinking in English 2. Gain confidence and make your English more fluent. After a few conversations in English with people from different countries, the fear of speaking and making mistakes will disappear 3. Boost your vocabulary. When you learn a new word during a conversation, it is better memorized 4. Find new friends from different countries. Meet new interesting people in our speaking club 5. Learn about different countries You will know other cultures and learn about the traditions of people from around the world and features of life in other countries 6. You don't need much time. Even if you have 10 minutes, you can join the meeting and benefit Govar's mission is to unite people through language learning. How to use Govar? - Install the app. - Open Govar - Register - Choose convenient time, choose your English level and start speaking - If you forgot a word, translate it in the dictionary on the meeting page. - If you have nothing to discuss, push "No topic?" button and Govar will help you.     At the beginning of the year, we changed Govar's business model. The new version of the app was published on December 31. From our users, we understood that we provide enough value for them to pay for attending meetings. Now, users have access to 3 free meetings a month, and if they like it and want to attend more, they need to buy a subscription. However, we did not abandon our mission – to provide people with an affordable opportunity to practice. For those who cannot afford to pay, we offer free access. In the 2.5 months of the new version, we have more than doubled the number of customers (from 41 to 86) and continue to do so every day. Now, the Govar funnel consistently converts users into paying subscribers. And when we looked separately at the behavior of iOS and Android users, we found that the behavior in the absolutely same app on different operating systems differs significantly. The conversion from install to subscription on iOS is 6 times higher than on Android. We will tell about a 4-time increase in conversion in 3 months in the next post.

    Govar changed its business model and the MRR (monthly recurring revenue) started to grow📈 We conducted interviews with customers and active users and realized that the product is good enough to pay for. Before the New Year, we changed the business model. Now, the number of free accesses is limited for users. In the very first month (January, 2024), MRR increased from $67 to $136. There was a slight concern that these were random results. But February showed that the growth is stable, and in February, MRR reached $214. These are the data as of February 29. And it continues to grow: in just under 4 days of March, MRR increased by another 17%, and the number of customers has already grown to 70! By May 2024, we plan to reach $1,000 MRR and attract a new round of investments.

    How did I regain my English level and help others improve it? A few days ago, I wrote a post how in 5 years without practice, I forgot how to speak English. To get my English back, I went to speaking clubs in Minsk a few times, tried various online services, but nothing fully satisfied me. So, I decided to create my own app, combining offline meetings and endless online possibilities. Who can benefit from it? Anyone who wants to speak English fluently and knows a bit of it (can introduce themselves in a couple of sentences). Govar was launched in April 2022. Govar – English speaking club is an app for practicing spoken English with others via video calls. You can join without video too. We don't teach; we provide a comfortable, supportive and safe environment for English communication. No need to travel to other countries now. Everyone learns to speak here, so no one laughs or scolds for mistakes. Initially, Govar was a Telegram bot, then became an app for iOS and Android. Recently, we released a web version for PC browsers. How Govar works: * Open the app and choose a meeting (available every evening). * Select your English level. * Join a group video call with people of your English level from different countries. * Talk to them in English as long as you want. In a year and a half, we helped hundreds of people speak English and feel more confident. Some even changed their lives: passed job interviews, got new jobs, found friends from different countries. Several articles were written about us. As for me... After 2 months of using Govar, I could speak English fluently on any topic. I stopped being afraid of making mistakes. Moreover, as an introvert, talking to strangers was always challenging for me. In the first 2 months, I met dozens of people and no longer fear talking to strangers.     2023 was filled with cool moments for Govar and we decided to share these moments with you🎄 💫Our achievements: 🔺More than 8,000 registered users 🔺We have improved English and made life better for hundreds of people 🔺#2 product of the day, #1 educational product of the week and #2 educational product of the month on Product Hunt 🔺4 pitch competitions won. ⚡️January • We made the first reels (short videos) and began to develop social networks • Meetings with native speakers were released ⚡️February • Govar won the first startup competition in Poland by Ū Hub | Startup Community in Poland • We released the change room feature ⚡️March • Govar won the second startup competition in Vilnius.
