Safer Prop Moving

Description
Is your character a super-human clutz? Have you become a world class carpenter only to find you still break your masterpieces? Well you've come to the right place!

Since even the dullest of individuals can move objects around the house without breaking them, this mod reduces the entry to being able to safely reorganize your house.

Changes:
- If a skill is required to pickup an item, you start with 30% break chance at skill level 0, 20% at level 1, 10% at level 2, and 0% for 3 and beyond.
- If no skill is required, then..... well.... no skill is required. So 0% break chance.

NOTE: Only supports main branch, no beta branches are guaranteed to work.
NOTE: Not compatible with Rebalanced Prop Moving

I would like an update to this, feels like a good way to balance the 'skills required to move' mechanic without eliminating the feature entirely.

please update this mod since it works with the disassemble item mod and rebalanced doesnt
TY!

I wasn't planning to maintain this one, the rebalanced seems to be the preferred.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's too outdated now and causes lua scripting problems.
If there's interest in having this one over rebalanced I could look into updating it.

Well I figured out a way to analyze prop names for different patterns to form a "whitelisting" mechanism.

Made a new mod that includes removal of tool/skill reqs on furniture and appliances, Rebalanced Prop Moving .

Being able to do mundane moves like bookshelves would definitely be logical and much welcomed. Still, this is a huge improvement, thanks for your mod!

Definitely agree. I think if you managed to figure out a whitelist solution, it'd be nice because people could edit it easily enough. But if you could move sinks and metal shelves drilled into the wall with your bare hands, I think that would be lame.

Thanks for the reply and the mod though! The base game chance is a bit silly. Best of luck if you decide to send another mod that does this :)

Been thinking about how this could be implemented. I do think it should be a separate mod, one that perhaps does the above and removes tool reqs, as this mod is intended to be a tiny tweak to a rather outrageous break chance (e.g. in vanilla game a level 6 carpentry has a 30% chance to break a rain barrel when picking up...).

The "type" of an object seems to be non-obvious in the lua, and will take more study of the code on my part to find how to "whitelist" objects of a specific type (e.g. oven, bookcase, couch, armchair, ...) to not require a tool.

One thing that is possible is to make nothing require a tool, but I'd really prefer to keep the tool requirements on say sinks for example, so I'm not a fan of that solution.
