Pharmacogenomics education and training have been recommended to help reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs)—but why is that the case? Our recent review offers some insight. We explored the potential of pharmacogenomics to transform cardiovascular therapy, as published by Wiley in Health Science Reports. In our review, we highlighted how DNA-based techniques like Next-Generation Sequencing can identify genetic variants, enabling personalized treatment for CVD patients. By enhancing the understanding of pharmacogenomics among both healthcare professionals and patients, we can improve the management of CVDs, the leading cause of death worldwide. The Lancet: My third single-authored article in The Lancet , titled "First #Marburg virus outbreak in #Rwanda: urgent actions needed," has been published online. #Interview with Nature: I am deeply honored to have been interviewed by Nature, the world’s leading multidisciplinary science journal. In this interview, I discussed the ongoing #Marburg virus outbreak in #Rwanda. I emphasized that Rwanda's extensive virus testing may explain the large scale of the current outbreak. I also pointed out that in past outbreaks, only a few cases were reported, but many might have been missed in countries with weaker health-care systems that lack the testing capabilities Rwanda has developed. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Saima May Sidik for inviting me and conducting the interview.
