It was a pleasure to host H.E. Guillaume Bertrand Scheurer, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Ankara, and his delegation at the Istanbul Financial Center. We had a productive discussion about strengthening the ties between Türkiye and Switzerland, exploring opportunities for Swiss investors to establish a presence at the IFC. We aim to boost Swiss investments, a key component of Turkish economy, through Istanbul Financial Center. I wish H.E. Last week the Consulate General of Switzerland in Istanbul, together with the Swiss Business Hub Türkiye and the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye, organised the Swiss Days 2024 in YapıKredi BomontiAda, in the heart of Istanbul. ❤️ As a Swiss company operating in Turkey, Hapimag had the honour and pride to participate in this two-day event on September 20 and 21. Thank you very much for the invitation! 🙏🙌 This year, we explored the inspiring theme of “𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩 – 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳”. The event has been open to the general public and focused on the importance of education, vocational training and career planning. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about career possibilities in panels and workshops or at the market stalls in the Bomontiada courtyard, which is a Swiss institution: The Swiss family Bomonti from Bern settled in Istanbul in the late 19th century where they established the first beer brewery in the Turkish metropole. Today, the old beer factory has been transformed into an event and cultural centre. 😊 Kerem Demirkol, Head of Operations Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Italy and Greece at Hapimag, was part of the panel on “𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘌𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘏𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 & 𝘎𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘺“. Moderated by Ayça Çiğdem Budak Melek, IWSA Director and wine & spirits educator, Kerem and Associate Prof.Dr.Dilistan Shipman, Director of School of Applied Sciences and Todori Kalamaris, General Manager at Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus, shared their thoughts on combining Turkish hospitality and Swiss excellence. 👏 Kerem proudly shared Hapimag's inspiring sustainability journey, highlighting exemplary projects from the Hapimag Sea Garden Bodrum resort 🌅: “When our resort was founded 30 years ago, we irrigated our gardens by purifying the water taken from the sea using a reverse osmosis system that hardly anyone in Turkey had heard of,” said Kerem. “With this system, we have managed to protect our lush nature even in the years of greatest water scarcity. 🌱 Thanks to the reverse osmosis system with a capacity of 850 tons/day, we are helping to protect surface and underground water resources.” 💧 In addition to the ecological projects, he reported on best practices in the area of social and economic CSR activities, as Hapimag pursues a holistic approach to sustainability, which is also reflected in the vision “𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱”. 😊🌎 #morehappypeople #Hapimoments #Hapimag

The Turkish Minister of #Industry and #Technology, Mehmet Fatih KACIR, invited the Board of the European-Turkish Trade and Investment Council, ETTIC in his office in #Ankara for an introduction and update on ETTIC, an initiative from the bi-lateral European Chambers of Commerce and Industry in #Türkiye. The meeting was also attended by Muhammet Mollamehmetoğlu, Advisor to the Minister, and H. Alper Alkaç of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The President of ETTIC, Dr. Markus C. Slevogt, presented ETTIC’s mission and strategy, underlining the Council’s important role to further strengthen the relations with the European Institutions in #Brussels and #Ankara to promote and advocate the interests of the European trade and investments in #Türkiye. On the agenda were also ETTIC’s activities and next steps for upgrading the #CustomsUnion. With the new #EU power structure now in place, the ETTIC Board will visit the #EuropeanCommission in November. Fruitful discussions were held about the support of the Ministry and further institutional support from Türkiye, to make this upcoming #Brussels visit as successful and efficient as possible. During the meeting, open views were also shared on macroeconomics. We thank the Minister for hosting us. The 18th edition of the Swiss-Turkish Economic Forum was held on 20 September 2024 at Yapı Kredi bomontiada as the starting event of the Swiss Days 2024, organized under the theme ‘Shaping Enhancing Swiss-Turkish collaboration in Education, Training & Development, and Leadership Talent”. The opening speeches were delivered by Mr. Arpat Senocak, President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye and H.E. Mr. Guillaume Scheurer ,Ambassador of Switzerland to Türkiye. In his opening remarks, Mr. Arpat Senocak, President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye, emphasised the importance of this year's theme and said: "We will discuss today how to best prepare employees and leaders for a future full of uncertainties." H.E. Mr. Guillaume Scheurer, Ambassador of Switzerland to Türkiye addressed the audience by highlighting the following: “There are more than 150 Swiss companies operating in Türkiye and these companies offer more than 19,000 job opportunities. As these are often senior positions, there is a significant transfer of know-how, and this is of great importance for the Turkish economy. But the potential is still great, and we need to work together with the authorities in Türkiye to maximise this potential.” Prof. Dr. Mr. Deniz Yuret from Koç University delivered an enlightening keynote speech touching on the roles of education, artificial intelligence and business in developing future leadership talent. The forum continued with a panel titled ‘What are the Critical Factors for Success for Leaders in the World of the Future?’. The panel, moderated by Ayşe Güçlü Onur from Egon Zehnder Türkiye, featured Erik Swars from SFUVET, Leszek Wącirz from Nestlé Türkiye, and Dr. Aybike Mergen from Özyeğin University, and addressed in details the impact of artificial intelligence, technology and changing business dynamics on leadership.
