🎻 On Friday, Representative Tielman hosted a Science and Music Salon at his Residence. Lute player David van Ooijen, who came to Taiwan for the Tears of Zeelandia concert series, gave an interesting talk about the connection between science and music. 🧮 He explained how music is underwritten by mathematical patterns, illustrated by music pieces of famous composers such as Bach. 🔬 He also touched upon stories about his father who worked at Philips NatLab, a cradle for science and innovation in Eindhoven from the ’60-‘90s.

🎥✨ 10 Years in the Semiconductors Industry: Watch Our NL Pavilion (SEMICON Taiwan) Anniversary Celebration Video! It's been an incredible journey, and we’re beyond excited to share this special moment! This year marks the 10th year of Dutch participation with a NL Pavilion at the #SEMICONTaiwan show. It also pays tribute to strong NL-TW business relations in the #semiconductors industry. The #Netherlands is one of only three countries to have all 7 steps of the value chain – from design and fabrication to packaging, testing and assembly of the end product. Nevertheless, the country is home to the world’s biggest machine builder for semiconductors manufacturing, ASML, but also has more than 300 semiconductors SME companies, all within a 200-km radius. To celebrate a decade of #partnership, #passion, and #technology breakthroughs, we created a short video looking back at our amazing 10-year story. 🎉 Thank you to all the companies, partners, and friends who have been a part of our 10-year journey. We couldn’t have done it without your support! #10Years #NLPavilion #AnniversaryCelebration #LookingBack #LookingForward #MoretoCome 🎬 Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gGFTXkRa

Empowering Women in Offshore Wind At today's “Power of Her” Happy Hour, we celebrated the incredible progress of female entrepreneurship in the offshore wind industry, both in Taiwan and the Netherlands. With 26% of Taiwan's offshore wind workforce being female—well above the global average—Taiwan is leading the way in diversity and inclusion. We kicked off the event with insights from Anouk van der Steen, Director for Innovation, Technology, and Science at the Netherlands Office in Taipei, who has been a driving force behind many initiatives promoting innovation and sustainability. Our panel of inspiring leaders, including Kim Asher - 金睿凰 (She/Her) and Nancy chan, shared insights on overcoming challenges, the importance of mentorship, and strategies to boost female leadership in this dynamic field. Let’s keep pushing for more representation and support for women in renewable energy! We also brought a touch of the Netherlands to our event, featuring delicious Dutch stroopwafels and cocktails made with Dutch gin, a classic spirit rich in history. To celebrate our Dutch and Taiwanese connections, we have a variety of desserts in shades of orange, symbolizing Dutch royalty and the spirit of innovation. #WomenInWind #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #DiversityAndInclusion #FemaleEntrepreneurs #Sustainability #DutchInnovation

🤝 The 9th NL-TW Energy and Innovation Cooperation Meeting was completed yesterday. We had an incredible session strengthening the partnership between #Taiwan and the #Netherlands in #renewableenergy, focusing on #offshorewind and #hydrogenpower today. Key speakers from Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (Taiwan) (MOEA) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) emphasize the deep-rooted trade relationship and joint efforts in transitioning to #cleanenergy. 🔍 The meeting addressed crucial topics such as renewable energy policies led by Chung-Hsien Chen from Taiwan’s Energy Administration and Kees Mokveld from RVO, the development of offshore wind power, including Dutch #floatingwind technology and Taiwan's advancements. We also exchanged practices in #hydrogenenergy innovations, with Taiwan's H2 Cofiring Project and Dutch hydrogen applications as case studies. 📈 The meeting reinforced the ongoing cooperation between Taiwan and the Netherlands in achieving shared renewable energy goals, promoting floating technologies for wind and solar PV, and addressing key challenges such as financial sustainability and market hurdles in the offshore wind sector. 👏 At the dinner reception, Representative Guido Tielman acknowledged the contributions of Kees Mokveld, who is on his final trip to Taiwan before his well-deserved retirement next summer. His efforts and support - both behind the scenes but also on stage - have been invaluable to the clean energy partnership between Taiwan and the Netherlands.
