英國在台辦事處代表包瓊郁（Ruth Bradley-Jones）很高興上週拜訪 Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)(工業技術研究院, 工研院) 董事長吳政忠，討論台英科技合作的成果與策略。包瓊郁代表感謝吳政忠董事長長期為台英科技合作努力，他在擔任國科會主委時也曾經訪問英國，促進雙方交流。英國在台辦事處與工研院密切合作，例如透過台英創新產業研究人員移地研究計畫（UK-Taiwan Innovative Industries Programme ）與台英創新研發合作計畫（UK-Taiwan Collaborative R&D）促成了豐富的科技研發合作案。兩項計畫的申請件數與合作金額，也是同類型雙邊計畫中成長速度最快的，顯見雙邊在研發交流上的熱切需求。 經濟成長是英國與台灣的共同目標，而其中的關鍵是驅動科技的創新、投資與應用，尤其先進製造、數位科技與潔淨能源等領域的科技都是台英的重點項目，我們的共享價值也包含確保良善的科技治理。英國在一月發布了推動《#人工智慧機會行動計畫》 （AI Opportunities Action Plan），目標使目前已經是第三大 #AI 市場的英國成為 AI 企業的投資首選，其中的措施包含設立 AI 成長區（AI Growth Zones, #AIGZs ），以加速推動 AI 基礎設施的發展，還有在 2030 年前使公共 AI 運算量能擴大 20 倍。英國也將在今年推出前瞻的產業策略，並期待持續在各科技領域和台灣合作，一起創造繁榮。 👉 欲了解《人工智慧機會行動計畫》敬請參考：https://lnkd.in/e-8hJWqj Austin Shih Ginell Hsu Andie Wang

英國在台辦事處於上週四（3 月 20 日）首度舉辦「台英創投商機論壇」（UK-Taiwan Venture Capital Summit），邀請由英國商業貿易部創投處帶領的英國創投代表團，和台灣知名創投企業擔任講師，透過七大主題演講與現場對談，分享台英創投生態、推廣台英合作契機。國家發展委員會主任委員劉鏡清，及台杉投資管理顧問股份有限公司總經理翁嘉盛均到場支持。 英國在台辦事處代表包瓊郁（Ruth Bradley-Jones）在開場致詞中表示，台灣和英國是「兩座創新島嶼」，對科技創新都充滿熱情，且共同關注太空、醫療保健、能源、網路安全和量子計算等領域，雙邊投資至關重要。然而，儘管台灣的科技製造實力有目共睹，英國科技創新產業所能提供的機會對台灣投資人而言卻較為陌生。 事實上，英國的 AI 企業數量和超過 1 兆英鎊的科技業產值，均高居全球前三名。而創新不只關乎科技，也有賴資本、智慧財產和人才——這場論壇便是要向台灣投資人介紹英國引以為傲的新創和創投生態系。 包瓊郁代表強調：「英國擁有科技創新、投資和潛在商機，希望英國成為台灣企業進入新市場、開發新產品和創造新收益的門戶。」 英國創投代表團本次來台除了參加論壇外，也拜訪了許多潛在投資者，包括國家發展基金委員會、台杉投資管理顧問股份有限公司、台灣金融機構投資者和大型電子企業的創投部門，交流台英成立雙邊科技基金的可能性，也就台灣五大信賴產業及英國新《產業策略》的八大重點產業（先進製造、潔淨能源、創意產業、國防與安全產業、數位與科技、金融服務、生命科學、專業與商業服務）的連結——特別是 AI 和半導體——深入討論。英國創投代表團表示對台灣的創投方向有了更進一步的認識， 收穫頗豐。 英國是國際公認的重要創業投資目的地，截至 2024 年，英國的資產管理規模（AUM）將來到 10.3 兆英鎊，預期在 2029 年將成長到 14.9 兆英鎊，以 9.67% 的年複合成長率（CAGR）持續吸引海外投資者。本次台英創投商機論壇，盼能增進台灣投資者對英國創投產業的認識，推動台英攜手創建更加活絡的創新創業投資生態圈。 備註：英國創投代表團成員包括：英國商業貿易部創投處（Department for Business and Trade, Venture Capital Unit）、英國創投銀行（British Business Bank）、倫敦證券交易所（London Stock Exchange）、Foresight Group、 Volution。 Jonathan Crook Tom Bird James Codling Nan-Chang Chiu Kai-Tse (KT) Lin BAMS Thom Abbott Chris Wiles Juliet Su Stephanie H.

We’re pleased to see continued UK-Taiwan exchanges in the space sector - International Partnership Manager Tobias Marchant from Space South Central and Deputy Director General Vicky Chu from Taiwan Space Agency－TASA participated in the panel discussion "The Future of Earth Observation – Emerging Missions and Technologies." 英國在台辦事處代表包瓊郁（Ruth Bradley-Jones）很高興能夠在週末參與今年 Chevening Awards 校友會公益活動，來到雲林和立法委員張嘉郡與青埔教育基金會一起和土庫國小的小朋友們交流、閱讀英文繪本，分享說故事和學習語言的樂趣。 英國校友是台英友誼的最佳見證之一，Chevening 英國政府獎學金在台灣開辦超過30年，已經培育了許多優秀的英國校友在台灣各個領域貢獻專業，也持續透過校友網絡回饋台灣社會。在英文繪本後，Chevening 校友會也為小朋友安排了英式下午茶體驗，並且動手作柏靈頓熊最愛吃的橘醬三明治，希望小朋友在美好的週末能夠探索童話世界、認識英國文化，也透過跟家人分享感受歸屬。 你也喜歡聽故事，或是說故事嗎？對包瓊郁代表來說，聽故事和說故事是人生很重要的一部分。跟許多小孩一樣，她和雙胞胎姊姊小時候最愛聽阿嬤講故事，家裡有一本厚厚的童話故事是「阿嬤專書」，特別留給阿嬤來訪的時候唸的。小姊妹各自蜷曲在阿嬤的左右手臂下，聽過一個又一個故事，隨著阿嬤戲劇化的聲音被療愈、被愛包圍，充滿歡笑也有淚水。包瓊郁代表認為故事有帶人脫離現實的魔力，但是透過分享故事反而能帶人回到真正歸屬的地方。 #Chevening #英國政府獎學金 #StudyUK #UKalumni Emily Liao Leon Man Yu-Wei Chen Mei-Yuan Sheng PEI JU Lee Kung-Ching Wang Chi Huang Po-Chin Li Christina Cheng

恭喜來自英國的福廷綠能源 Flotation Energy 和財團法人船舶暨海洋產業研發中心 Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC)  在英國離岸再生能源整合發展中心 Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult 代表團的見證下，於上個月（2月）的亞太國際風力發電展 Wind Energy Asia 簽署合作備忘錄 （ MoU）。 備忘錄將支持福廷綠能源正在進行的「竹廷浮動式離岸風電計畫」，為台灣獨特的環境條件提供能源解方，也期待能夠在商業化運行前的階段，定義台灣深水部署的未來，找到一條降低成本的路徑。 福廷綠能源亞太區執行董事柴田順（Jun Shibata ）表示：「這份合作備忘錄強調了彼此對合作的誠意與承諾，也代表在推進台灣浮式離岸風電的部署方面向前邁了一步。這項協議有助展現台灣供應鏈的成熟和基礎建設的實力。」 We’re glad that Flotation Energy has signed an MoU with the Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC) at Wind Energy Asia, witnessed by representatives from Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. The MoU will support the development of The Chu Tin Floating Offshore Wind Farm Project, creating solutions tailored to Taiwan’s unique environmental conditions. It is also expected that the pre-commercial will define the future phase of Taiwan’s deep-water deployment as well as identify the fundamental steps toward a cost reduction pathway. Jun Shibata, Regional Head and Executive Director, APAC of Flotation Energy, said: “The MoU with the Ship Ocean Industries R&D Center underscores our genuine commitment to collaboration and represents a step forward in advancing Taiwan’s floating offshore wind deployment.
