I was chatting w Swahilies and I argued that Startups in Tanzania are not funded by local investors, then the next question went like So Who's funding all these fintechs and noisy startups I see online social media? 🤣 My answer was, Bro---It's the Americans, and the Germans ! ✅ Hustle Fund invested in Tembo, Ramani.io both doing very well. 😇 Acumen supported KOPAGAS, Silabu - The social learning app ⬆️ DEG Impulse nacked Tembo, Dawa Mkononi, inalipa, BioBuu, Safiri 🌴 Y Combinator endorsed Ramani.io and NALA both have now done Amazing Series A rounds. ✌🏻 Visa might have funded AzamPay and Beem, Hapa sina uhakika lakini👌 While I understand and have so much respect for the upcoming local investors and the amount of work they are doing in the ecosystem, I still think more is needed--- on top of what is being done by Warioba Ventures, Serengeti Angels and Ennovate Ventures 💯 https://lnkd.in/emdS49JP
