About us
AFRITAC East is a collaborative venture between the International Monetary Fund (IMF), eight member countries (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), and Uganda), and development partners (European Commission, The Netherlands, Germany, Norway, China, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland). AFRITAC East is the IMF’s first regional technical assistance center in Africa, established in response to the call from African leaders for increased technical assistance to Africa with a focus on capacity building.
