It was a proud moment seeing a member of team Colette George taking the initiative to support causes close to their hearts. As a cancer survivor, Colette knows firsthand the impact that support services have on the lives of people living with cancer and their loved ones. We’re honoured to provide our team with the freedom and encouragement to host events without limitations and this is exactly the kind of empowerment we strive for at 21 Degrees Digital. Last week, she hosted a successful charity bake sale, raising over £680 for a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning. We want to thank Erin Yousaf at Seneca Property for facilitating this idea, donating and supporting it every step of the way, and to everyone who generously contributed. It's not every day your office provider goes the extra mile for something like this. This was more than just a bake sale; it's about creating opportunities for our team to lead and make a difference. I definitely recommend that every business owner give their staff the same freedom to pursue their passions and make an impact where possible. She has a month left before the Royal Parks Half - London Marathon and we wish you all the best with it. Any Donation is appreciated, link here: https://lnkd.in/er_Gkmhk

Did you know each 2024 Paris Olympic Medal winner takes home a real piece of the Eiffel Tower? Fragments of iron that were removed and preserved during renovations to the Eiffel Tower throughout the 20th century have been infused into medals Unique to the Paris Games, this seems quite the souvenir to signify the location of each medal winner's triumph. #Paris2024 #Olympics #ParisOlympics

Can Google searches predict the winner of the Olympic Men's 100m Finals? Google searches the week before the 100m men's finals in London 2012 and Rio 2016 were able to predict the three medal winners of the finals, but Tokyo 2020 was quite the opposite. The favourite finished 3rd, with the least searched sprinter finishing 1st. Maybe Google can't predict the 100-metre finalist, or maybe Usain Bolt was insanely popular. Approaching Paris 2024, Noah Lyles is the most searched sprinter. Will this trend go back to normal or produce a potential anomaly of a year like Tokyo 2020? #Olympics #ParisOlympics #GoogleSearch #digitalmarketing

Happy Yorkshire Day! There's nothing quite like homegrown talent. The London 2012 Olympics would have had Yorkshire ranked #12 in the world if they represented as their own country. This year, 16 participants at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are from Yorkshire. Here are their names and events to look out for! Can this group of Yorkshire's finest Olympic talent be as successful as the 2012 group? #parisolympics #yorkshire #yorkshireday #olympics

Marketing isn't just an optional part of your business. Not if you want to grow, anyway. It's also not something you can 'palm off' on just anyone and hope for the best. 🤞🏽 Our MD, Rory Mason, explains why marketing should be at the top of every business leader's agenda AND why it's as much about culture as it is about sales. Get this quick knowledge download in TWO MINUTES to end your working week ⬇️
How much should business leaders buy into their companys marketing efforts? LOADS!!! Why? Because when it comes from the top, everyone buys in, and your efforts are better supported. 🤝 The more buy-in that you can get as a manager of any business into what your marketing activities are, the better it's going to go. 💼 So often brands or companies out there just think of marketing as something that they don't have to do. 🔍 And that might be because they found the sweet spot. They found a little niche that they occupy. They've got enough staff, they've got the right amount of staff to fulfill the right amount of leads that comes in. They're sitting pretty and they're not particularly ambitious. 👍 That's great. Those companies can exist with very little marketing. But if you're ambitious, you absolutely need marketing. 🚀 And what even with ambitious businesses, what we tend to find is that people will, brands that will turn around to us and they'll go, "Oh we've, we've hired an intern. Would you mind just doing a little bit of mentorship? Well absolutely, we can. 📋 And what we'll then turn around to that intern saying is, "You need to make sure that everything's going through a CRM. You need to be emailing people, you need to have your SEO, you need to redo your website so that in that poor little intern then potters into the MD's office, its their first job outside of university. They've got absolutely no clue what they're doing. 💬 And they go, "My agency told me that we think we need a new website. The managing director, first thing they're going to say is, "Well, well, how much do you cost? What's happening? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." 🙇♂ I don't know why I'm going very stereotypical with these timid things. An ambitious business should be spending between 10 and 20% of their revenue on sales and marketing. Right? 🧩 And if you're hiring an intern and you've got a great sales team, where are you getting your leads from? What's happening? 🔗 But if you have buy-in from the top management and the top management then comes in and goes "Right I want to spend 10% on marketing, I want to spend 10% on sales and I want to see results. I want to be involved in a weekly meeting or a monthly meeting to make sure that everything's on track on budget, and then I want to see results and I want to see this. People are going to jump. 📝 But if you leave this poor little intern going into your office and going, "Oh, I'm really sorry, can I please have some money to do this?", You're not going to get the buy-in. 📉 So what will happen? Marketing becomes something that just falls to the bottom. And that's absolutely fine for a business that is stagnating and a business that is say, stagnating or a business that's standing still. A business that isn't particularly ambitious. 🌱 But if you want to grow, if you genuinely want to grow your business, there's only one way, and that is to have buy-in from your senior management around marketing.

So this summer we've had not one but TWO work experience placements from our partnership with Leeds Trinity University. 💪 This is the lovely Alex who joined our film team for just over a month so that he could get to grips with real client work, flex his creativity and understand first-hand the industry as it is today. Why do we work with one of our local Unis to offer work experience? It's SO IMPORTANT. It's doing our part to ensure a thriving creative economy in Yorkshire. We can't sit back and expect the next generation of film-makers, storytellers and creators to just ✨APPEAR✨ from thin air! We have to play our part, and that means offering real world experiences on real client work. Coming on work experience to make tea and do admin is OVER. ☕❌ When we get people on placement with us, it has to be as valuable as it can be so that we're investing in local talent. And having more experiences involved in our work, if only for a short time, works to our advantage too. #weare21degrees #workexperience #videographers #esg #diversityinclusion
