Operating models provide the ‘blueprint’ for change – they bridge the gap between strategy and how work is delivered. They define the capabilities needed to deliver your strategy. Sounds straightforward, right? A colleague asked me (Kev Bland) recently what I had learned about designing operating models – here are the three things that came to mind: https://lnkd.in/e2Ymmm7J

CCR's largest investment to date 💸 31ten was brought in to act as the commercial advisor to Cardiff Capital Region as it negotiated its largest investment in Ogi, a Welsh broadband provider. The deal, which sees a £45m investment in OGI, is set to achieve a range of core growth outcomes for the region, supporting vital investments in a range of other initiatives.
We’re chuffed to share news of our new deal with the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR), alongside additional equity investment from principal shareholder, Infracapital, that will unlock over £45m to support the next stage in our growth. Find out more 👇 www.ogi.wales/news Chief Executive Officer, Ben Allwright, announced the deal by saying: “With key strategic sites like Aberthaw to the south and the heads of the valleys to the north, there’s massive potential across the capital region – and partnering with the CCR at such an exciting time in their own development is the next logical step for Ogi’s growth in southeast Wales. ”I’m immensely proud of the work the team at Ogi are doing across Wales, and this news – another leap forward in Ogi’s development - is testament to their commitment to making sure Wales keeps up to speed with the rest of the UK, and the world."

A date for your diary 📢 On Friday 4th October we're excited to be co-hosting a virtual roundtable discussion with the Impact Investing Institute 🗓 In this session, we will shine a light on adopting place-based impact investing (PBII) as an approach to attract external investment to create long-term positive, localised impacts. We will hear from Mark Hall from the Impact Investing Institute and investors taking a place-based approach, together with local authority and combined authority leaders to explore innovative financial strategies that can be targeted to help address local economic challenges, in the context of continued pressure to do more with less, increased focus on growth, and opportunities for fiscal devolution. This event will provide a welcoming platform to delve into how PBII can drive sustainable development, support local economic growth, and create positive social impacts in our communities. Engage with experts, learn from specific case studies, share best practices, and discover how PBII can unlock private investment and shape resilient, inclusive economies. We look forward to welcoming you to this opportunity to collaborate and drive meaningful change. Register now via the link below to secure your spot! https://lnkd.in/eCKW-gKS

Since 2010, the number of London households in temporary accommodation (TA) has almost doubled - from 36,000 in March 2010 to 63,000 in September 2023, making up well over half (57%) of England’s 105,750 homeless households and reportedly costing London councils a staggering £90 million a month. With the scale of the problem vast, what can councils do to tackle these challenges head-on? Here are a number of ways we're currently supporting our clients across the capital to do just that... 👇 Data source: London Councils

Knowledge sharing forms a large part of our ethos - collaborating with clients to deliver sustainable change, meaningful impact, and better outcomes. Our involvement with the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) has focused on sharing insights and lessons from our work with member services and, at the same time creating opportunities for discussion around different approaches and challenges across the sector. We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration with the NFCC as culture efforts remain a core focus across the FRS sector, but in the meantime, we're delighted to share a summary of our efforts to date: https://lnkd.in/eW6NdMph

As councils increasingly accept that the temporary accommodation problem is here to stay, we have started to look at approaches that think and act over the long term. The councils we are working with are clear that they are looking for interventions that will make an impact today, but also make sense over the long term. Nicholas Walford speaks to Room151 about how local authorities can be supported in providing temporary accommodation: https://lnkd.in/eumN4j_M #temporaryaccomodation #homelessness #emergencyaccommodation
