We analyse each and every material used throughout production and installation and look for sustainable solutions. As a window and door manufacturer, glass is a key component. Working with Glass Manufacturer Saint-Gobain, we prepare and recycle internal glass waste (known as cullet) resulting from production and also the post-consumer cullet, taken from discarded sealed units. Our staff are fully trained in this process and wear specialist cut-proof PPE, using a purpose designed ‘break-out table’ to collect the glass straight into collection bags. Once we have 24 bags of the prepared glass, they are collected and taken back to a cullet processing facility to remove any contaminations. The final cullet is then blended with other raw materials and remanufactured into new high-performance flat glass.

We may not have the best of weather here in Suffolk this week, but luckily we have still had the opportunity to try out our new Combilift Forklift from Eastern Forklift Trucks Limited.

What if we could keep PVC-u in constant circulation, never generating any waste when end-of-life windows are replaced by newer models? That’s what Asset Fineline have achieved using Eurocell plc Recycle. We are very proud to announce that we have now recycled over 150 tonnes of PVC-u windows and doors, all through Eurocell Recycle. All products that would traditionally end up in landfill. The eight-step closed-loop recycling system minimises the environmental impact of PVC-u windows. It means a better, greener service for the customer. One less health and safety issue to worry about. And a brighter future for us all. • Asset Fineline agree recycling procedure with our customers • Asset Fineline remove end-of-life windows • Asset Fineline deglaze the PVC-u windows to separate the glass and store the frames ready for collection. There is a cost attributed to deglazing but it is usually offset by reduced skip costs • Eurocell Recycle collect the old PVC-u windows, saving the PVCu windows going into skips and ultimately landfill • The PVC-u is shredded, granulated and micronised at the Eurocell recycling plants • New PVC-U profiles are extruded utilising the recycled windows PVC-U • New PVC-U windows are fabricated at A&B Glass factory • New PVC-U windows are installed utilising up to 40% recycled material These windows have been recycled and saved from landfill in Norfolk with Broadland Housing Group and Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Suffolk with Orwell Housing Association and Havebury Housing Partnership, Cambridgeshire with Aran and Cambridgeshire County Council, LB Enfield Council direct, LB Islington Council with Mears Group PLC, LB London Borough of Tower Hamlets with Mears Group PLC, Dover District Council with Wates Group, Essex County Council with Uttlesford District Council and Estuary Housing Association and many other individual areas where PVC-U windows have been removed by Asset Fineline. We thank all for their cooperation, working together to help improve our environment.
