Economic outlook on the rise 📈 abrdn’s latest Savings Ladder Index research shows the economic outlook among UK adults has seen a boost, rising by 6 points to 52/100. This wave of optimism is reflected in several key areas: - Personal financial confidence: Up from 32% to 38% - Interest rate optimism: Confidence in rates coming down increased from 21% to 28% - Stock market performance: Optimism up from 16% to 22% - Overall economic outlook: Improved from 16% to 19% However, an intergenerational divide is emerging. Young adults (18-34) are leading the charge with a double-digit increase in confidence, while those aged 55+ have seen little change, and in some cases, a decline. As we approach the Autumn Budget, abrdn is urging the Government to avoid policies that could dampen this growing interest in saving and investing.
