🔥 “Nothing about us, without us.” 🔥 Today at the House of Commons, Achieve together was proud to stand alongside Campaign 4 Change and sector leaders at the launch of the What Matters to Me report – a groundbreaking project by the Challenging Behaviour Foundation (CBF). This three-year initiative amplifies the voices of people with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), ensuring that their experiences directly inform local and national policy. Why this matters: ✅ People with PMLD must be recognised as active participants in shaping policy, not just recipients of care. ✅ Innovative approaches – from sensory engagement to lived experience advocacy – create real pathways for inclusion. ✅ Systemic change happens when lived experience drives decision-making. 🎤 Huge thanks to Kevin McKenna MP for hosting, CBF for leading this vital work, and to the inspiring self-advocates and families who make their voices heard every day. 📢 The report and resources are now available on the CBF website – let’s keep the momentum going! 🔗 Join the conversation: #WhatMattersToMe #InclusionMatters #LearningDisability #PolicyChange #Campaign4Change The Challenging Behaviour Foundation, CAMPAIGN4CHANGE Michael Fullerton Viv Cooper MBACP Josh Babarinde OBE CF MP Mencap The National Autistic Society Learning Disability England Future Social Care Coalition BILD - British Institute of Learning Disabilities

MPs will vote on the National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) Bill today following the House of Lords Amendments. We urge all MP’s to vote to make social care exempt from the increased NIC costs. This is vital to sustain an already struggling sector, and ensure people drawing on social care have access to good support, when they need it, and have options to choose from when seeking social care. MP’s – show solidarity with “Specified Employers” and push for meaningful change and investment in social care. People’s lives and quality of live depends on it. #ProvidersUnite #ValueSocialCare #NICSDefeat #StrongerTogether Providers Unite, Claire Coutinho MP, Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, Stephen Kinnock, Learning Disability England, Tom Rutland, Care England, Jess Asato MP, Josh Fenton-Glynn MP

A huge congratulations to our incredible colleague, Erren Wheatland, on receiving the prestigious Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care Gold Award! This national recognition, presented by Professor Dame Deborah Sturdy, honours Erren’s exceptional leadership and clinical expertise in social care nursing, including: ✔ Specialist epilepsy care, supporting people at risk of SUDEP. ✔ Pioneering health and wellbeing initiatives for people with complex needs. ✔ Supporting the development of national PMLD standards and championing co-production. During the presentation, Dame Deborah shared: “Achieve together was one of the first specialist care organisations to win a nurse-led team award, and that’s powerful.” Upon receiving the award, Erren shared: "It is such a privilege to be a nurse, leading a fabulous nurse-led team and making a difference to people’s lives. It is great to see nurses being recognised in this way, and to celebrate the vital role nurses play in adult social care." As we approach Epilepsy Purple Day on 26 March, we’ll be sharing more about our expertise in epilepsy care and how we continue to support individuals to live their best lives. Join us in celebrating Erren’s achievement! #AchieveTogether #NursingExcellence #SocialCareLeadership #ThankYouNurse #PurpleDay #EpilepsyAwareness
