'Thinking outside the box' often means reminding yourself that the box doesn't really exist. Once you realise that, almost anything can happen! For me, that includes: 💥 Working with the FBI and the US Navy to blow up a delivery truck 🎤 Writing a song about workplace safety in the style of Barry White 👶 Reimagining dull but important GDPR legislation in the form of Ada the Data Baby And my latest example is a genuine career highlight. This year, Jara Brasa and I teamed up with the brilliant Fraser Simpson at Wellcome Trust to create Connie – a puppet who represents their employees' collective conscience. Connie has just won the European Compliance & Ethics Community (ECEC) Award. And on Tuesday at 4pm, we’re sharing the story at Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI)'s IMPACT 2024 conference in Florida. There’s some real behavioural science magic at this meeting point of ethics, compliance, and puppetry. It has impact because it speaks to the human. It’s also a lot of fun. Every Maggie's is designed to be a place to escape from the clinical environment of the hospital, offering support on the things that really make a difference, like money worries, help with stress and depression and managing side-effects.
