This is a devastating step backwards. It is a political choice, and a short-sighted and cruel one. Especially at a time when we’re seeing a decline in global aid and a sharp rise in humanitarian needs. 🔴 733 million people are going hungry. 🔴 2.8 billion people are unable to afford a healthy diet. 🔴 And deadly conflict is pushing more people to the brink of famine. How many more? An aid worker was killed and five others wounded, after a strike on a UN offices in Gaza. Just days before, attacks killed eight workers and a journalist. Humanitarians are risking everything to deliver life-saving aid, and yet they are being bombed in so-called ‘safe zones.’ This is a grave violation of international law. Aid workers are #NOTATARGET.
