🌏 For this week's ‘Better Future Showcase’ we would like to share ‘The World's Ugliest Lawn’ campaign where Gotland and Stockholm agency, Differ, challenged the world and the norm of green lawns. The ‘World’s Ugliest Lawn’ encouraged the people to think about saving water by sharing images of their ugly dry lawns.  💧 This campaign set out to tackle the problem of vast amounts of water being used every day to water lawns for aesthetics. As the world becomes warmer, water scarcity has become a growing problem. To address this, the campaign celebrated not watering lawns for aesthetic reasons in order to protect the availability of groundwater.      People from across the world entered the competition by simply sharing a picture of their ugly dry lawns on Instagram with the hashtag. #worldsugliestlawn or by emailing the picture to Gotland. In the end, a winner was selected and awarded a prize  🏜️ This was a brilliant campaign that revoked that idea of keeping your lawn green and tidy and instead shed light on the power of simply doing nothing at all, in this instance, to do your bit for the environment! Find out more here: Region Gotland: https://lnkd.in/eDWaad9a   Credits  Client: Region Gotland  Client Team: Mimmi Gibson  Creative Agency: Differ Agency Stockholm  Production: Colony  Post Production: Colony Post   Awards: Shortlisted in the PR category of Cannes Lions. Silver in Spinn, Second round in One Show Green Pencil and a European shortlist in the ANDY Awards. #Sustainablecampaigns #waterconservation #CannesCannesCannes Lions International Festival of Creativity #ANDYAwards

🚀 Better Future Showcase 🌍  We are excited to share the work of Transport for London (TfL), which has taken huge steps to reduce carbon emissions, in line with its goal to decarbonise its operations by 2030.  TfL is leading the way by converting all lighting across its network of bus shelters, tube stations, and advertising panels to energy-efficient LED lights. These lights consume up to 60% less energy and are 10% brighter than traditional lighting! 💡 As part of this journey, TfL has selected Global and JCDecaux to manage their advertising estates—Global will oversee the rail estate, while JCDecaux will manage bus shelter advertising. As part of the tender, TfL has asked bidders to consider the environmental impact of advertising reinforcing TfL's commitment to a sustainable future. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eJHagNY9 More than 50% of TfL's bus shelters have already been converted, reducing energy consumption by 57%. Once fully implemented, this initiative will cut carbon emissions by over 1,000 tonnes of CO2e annually! 🌱🌿  Read more here: https://lnkd.in/egrEZcw5 #SustainableAdvertising #TfL #BetterFutureShowcase #Decarbonisation
