Advanced Oxford has published its latest research report - Gender Inclusivity - A Catalyst for Innovation. The culmination of a 3 year PhD project by our fantastic colleague, Hannah Isabelle T., under the expert supervision of Anne Laure Humbert, Charikleia (Charoula) Tzanakou (updated account), the idea for the project started with a conversation with Simonetta Manfredi at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford Brookes Business School.
The report makes the argument for a focus on gender-inclusion in science and technology companies. The report uncovers how many companies operate under a ‘gender-neutral facade,’ masking non-inclusive practices that hinder innovation.
Creating an environment where all genders can contribute equally is crucial to staying competitive in today’s market. It is not just about numbers. We know that the absolute numbers of women in science companies, whether as founders, leaders, or as part of the workforce is not where we want and need it to be. Yet, there is still much more that can be done and it is about creating a culture, practices, policies and structures that support and encourage inclusion and participation.
This is not only a PhD thesis, not just an academically rigorous piece of research. The report has been written with business as an audience. It contains recommendations and is accompanied by guidance and tools to help companies address some of the key issues, all available on our website.
Please do take a look, and if you have suggestions for ways in which we can add to the materials, let us know. The report, guidance and toolkit can be found here: https://lnkd.in/evi7kHC8
