We see this every day - all of our services are experiencing the highest level of demand, both in terms of the number of people requiring support and the complexity of their need, that we have ever seen in our 76 years of being the regions only entirely older older person focused organisation. At the same time some support contract values remain fixed at 2019 levels - since then inflation has run at 24% - and we're still waiting for our major advice and support contracts to be confirmed. At times it feels, as one of the older people quoted in the report says, that "we're coping - barely". But we're committed to continuing the work we do and working collaboratively with some of the great partnerships we've developed in the last few years across the region and across the public, private and VCSE sectors. We will always continue to deliver our mission "Ensuring local older people get the services and support they need" and we will achieve our vision that "Older people can live happy and independent later lives".

As the region’s leading physio and injury rehabilitation provider, Flex Health has seen a growing number of older people using their services. Wanting to do more to support the local community, they reached out to us—and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them on board! The team at Flex Health has hit the ground running—literally! Five of their team members are joining our Age UK HEY 10K Team, raising vital funds to help us continue providing essential services for older people. But their support doesn’t stop at the finish line. Flex Health is also backing key community initiatives, including Bee Lady Day and our Christmas Shoebox Appeal, and they’re helping us reach more older people by referring those in need to our services.
