Founder & Managing Partner @ Araya Ventures

I am incredibly proud to announce the $10.9 million first close of the @Araya Ventures Super Angel Fund, a solo GP fund that will invest in 50-60 early stage startups across HealthTech, Fintech, Commerce and Work. As I’ve done with previous investments, we will work hard to add value to founders beyond the cheque in meaningful ways. Founders, please share your fundraise details at hello@araya.ventures. There are so many people to thank - as anyone who has gone through the process of raising a fund will tell you - it takes nothing short of a village! I am grateful for our fund investors for believing in us from the get go, colleagues and partners who’ve worked tirelessly in the background, friends from the eco-system for their endless guidance and introductions and my family for their heart-warming support. Now the real work begins 🙌🏽 And I can’t wait to get started. See the press coverage below in comments👇🏾

Last night, I had the privilege of hosting a dinner on #angelinvesting in partnership with yhangry featuring the culinary talents of Chef Matt. There’s something magical about bringing people together over food—creating a space where we can be authentic, vulnerable, laugh, and learn from one another. I’m grateful to the seven amazing women who joined me. Your willingness to share your stories, insights, and perspectives, as well as your openness to listen and support each other, made the evening truly special. A big thank you to yhangry team and Siddhi Mittal for helping organize this beautiful evening that brought us all together around the table. And excited to see their continued work on supporting in person connections in this uber digital age through community dinners.

    Female Invest | YC S21 l Forbes 30 u. 30 l Sunday Times Bestselling Author

Two weeks ago, Female Invest announced an $11,2m Series A. Meanwhile, Camilla was giving birth.👇 👇 In fact, we signed the papers the day before her due date. Why are we sharing this? To change the narrative. For context, this will be our second baby in the Founder team (this pic is with Emma's baby last year). It's no secret that female founders face unique barriers and bias, especially when fundraising. Having fundraised twice with a pregnant founder, it's terrifying to say the least. Ironically, not because of the risks associated with childbirth or doubts about how it would impact the company. We have a great team, we set up systems and being three founders means we can cover for each other. By far, the biggest challenge has been navigating the prejudice and expectations from the world around us. Expectations shape reality. If society expects female founders to fail when starting a family, VC's won't invest, employees won't apply for jobs and women will refrain from even trying. By sharing our journey, we hope to inspire change. Encouraging VC's to bet on women and encouraging more women to combine the dreams of motherhood and startup life. It's not easy and it does take a village. We've been lucky to find extraordinary investors who believe in us, romantic partners who support our dreams and a dedicated team who wants to change the world with us. We all play a role in changing the narrative. Are you ready? 🔥
