  • It’s a wrap! 🎉 Last week in Chicago, our State of Sustainability Food & Bev Summit brought together 40+ sustainability professionals from the Food & Beverage industry. The energy was electric! Here are the key highlights of the day: 💡 The Evolution of PCFs Brilliant insights from Erin Augustine (Oatly), Katelyn Boisvert (Amcor), and Alex Winters (Ardagh Group) on how PCFs are transforming value chain communication. Jamie Dujardin (Altruistiq) showcased our grant-funded work with Unilever, PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency), and Digital Catapult on PCF data structures—particularly relevant for optimising company-supplier engagement. 🔗 Successful Supply Chain Engagement Catherine Rueppel (The Coca-Cola Company) and Autumn Fox (Mars) shared their expertise as thought leaders implementing data-driven supplier programmes at scale. (Spoiler alert: mass supplier surveys are out!) 🌽 Farmers at the Centre of Transformation Adam Henkel, a seventh-generation Illinois farmer, provided candid perspectives on the business value of sustainability transition. Marc Rakoczy (Suntory Global Spirits) and Greg Goodwin (IL Corn) demonstrated their inspiring collaboration on sustainable corn production. 💧 Water Stewardship David Spitzley (Starbucks) shared expertise on water strategy, measurement, and data—an area requiring further innovation and standardisation. 📦 Packaging Innovation Mackenzie H. Crigger, Ph.D. (International Paper) and Bethany Jones closed our sessions with practical frameworks for packaging collaboration, from supplier innovation pitches to brand-led strategies. A massive thank you to all our speakers and attendees whose contributions made this summit truly special. We're already planning our EU edition later this year—watch this space!

Tired of "supply chain engagement" programs that generate more surveys than carbon reductions? In our latest episode, Saif Hameed and Bethany Jones Jones (Supply Chain Decarbonisation Lead, Altruistiq) cut through the hype to outline a framework for real impact: - Align before action: Bridge internal agendas and make procurement central—they understand the supplier relationships. - Evolve data, don't overhaul: Progress from compliance surveys to product carbon footprints - without specific PCF components, you're collecting numbers, not insights. - Prioritise ruthlessly: Focus on suppliers with the highest emissions, strategic value, and collaboration potential. Tune in below 🎧
