🚀 Spotlight on Spinouts 2025 is here! 🚀 We’re thrilled to share that our Partner, Manjari Chandran-Ramesh, has written the foreword for this year’s Spotlight on Spinouts report, produced by Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub and Beauhurst. The 2025 edition of this landmark report provides crucial insights into the state of UK academic spinouts, from investment trends to sector growth, leadership diversity, and university equity stakes. Key takeaways from the report: ✅ University equity stakes have hit a 10-year low – dropping from 21.5% in 2023 to 16.1% in 2024, making spinouts more investable. ✅ Equity investment in spinouts surged to £2.60 billion in 2024, despite a 19% decline in the wider UK equity market. ✅ The Golden Triangle (Oxford, Cambridge, London) dominates, accounting for 27.7% of all UK spinouts. ✅ Pharmaceuticals remains the top sector, with 399 spinouts. ✅ Only 7.38% of spinouts were founded by all-female teams, highlighting the ongoing need to improve diversity in leadership.
