We wanted to acknowledge that many of the families we support could be affected by the distressing, racist attacks that have taken place across the country over the last week. Many people are feeling unsafe, vulnerable and fearful. We are an organisation set up to champion inclusion and fight against inequality. We recognise that different kinds of discrimination are interconnected. We stand with people of colour, refugees and asylum seekers and condemn the racist actions of rioters. Our Brighton office is based on Queen's Road where a planned event is rumoured to take place this evening. As a result, we have advised our staff to work from home today to ensure their safety. Today, you will not be able to reach our Brighton office by phone or in person, but our advice line remains open during normal hours. You can email us on info@amazesussex.org.uk if you need to get in touch. We have linked some resources below to help families talk to their children about these events from NSPCC and Mental Health Foundation https://lnkd.in/e63tstJ https://lnkd.in/e84j3dQA
