Learning, growing and networking🌟 On Monday I had the opportunity to attend the unlock your spark event hosted by Launch with Luca It was a huge step for me as I have social anxiety and I pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone and network with many people. The event started off with Luca Chigbo giving a speech about how he got an apprenticeship from ey. He then spoke about the struggles he faced like having a short attention span and low confidence. But he took small steps to overcome them. And now he was able to host an event and talk in front of around 300 people. Then we heard from Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver the CEO of Apprentago . Carlo shared his journey, starting from secondary school to getting a degree apprenticeship at natwest and ultimately becoming the CEO of a thriving business. He talked about his rough past and how he went from being homeless to a degree apprentice. This was so inspirational because it showed no matter the circumstance you are still able to achieve your dreams. After we heard from Alex Reid who is a professional in financial services for over 30 years. He informed us on working in the finance industry and this was insightful as one day I aim to work in financial services. This was then followed by a panel discussion with professionals such as Sydney Silver , Amy R. Junior David Byuzura , Tobi Adedeji and Jessica Simony who all shared vital advice and their experiences. It was insightful hearing their thoughts and opinions on their degree apprenticeships as it gave a first hand view to what it may be like. This was knowledge that you probably can't be found online as not everyone is open to talking about the positives and negatives of degree apprenticeships. The most important takeaway I had from the panel is that it is important to have a growth mindset. This way you are able to develop yourself as a person and improve the way you do things in order to become the best version of yourself. When we face challenges or failures, we should see them as opportunities to grow instead of reasons to give up. I believe that with effort and persistence, I can develop new skills and get better at anything I set my mind to. This mindset keeps me open to learning new skills that will help with my career growth. At the end of the event I had a chance to meet Luca and ask him some questions which helped clear some of the doubts I had about degree apprenticeships. Attending this event pushed me beyond my comfort zone, and I now feel more confident about networking. I would like to say thank you to Luca Chigbo for this opportunity and hopefully I can attend more events like this in the future. #networking #finance #Launchwithluca #connections #growthmindset

How Tiktok’s lives helped me secure my dream degree apprenticeship 📲 If you told me a year ago that I would hold a degree apprenticeships offer due to the valued advice from two people on TikTok I wouldn’t have believed you. Like others I found Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver and Luca Chigbo on Tiktok livestreams promoting higher education alternatives. Through this I was able to ask advice on all areas of apprenticeships. The event started with an introduction by Luca Chigbo sharing his story to where he is today and challenges he has faced with being neurodivergent. This resonated with me as I am also neurodivergent which since my diagnosis weighed heavily on me. The idea that something was “wrong with me” made progression harder. However, Luca’s message was clear: changing your mindset leads to growth, confidence, and ultimately, success. This was followed by a truely moving speech by Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver who discussed his journey to becoming the CEO of Apprentago. Within this speech a key phrase stuck out to me: “the good don’t last long the bad don’t last long but we all get to the other side” This message has stuck with me throughout my journey. It reminds me that challenges are temporary and that perseverance will lead to success. Throughout the event I was also able to network with many aspiring apprentices and current apprentices who sharing their experiences over application season. Followed by a keynote from Junior David Byuzura , Amy R. , Sydney Silver , Jessica Simony and Tobi Adedeji sharing their experiences with being apprentices. Thank you Luca Chigbo for holding such a fantastic event! #Apprentice #Year13 #Womeninfinance #Networking

On Monday, I attended the inspiring "Unlock your spark: Early Careers Extravaganza" event hosted by Luca Chigbo and sponsored by Apprentago. The event started with an empowering speech by Luca, who shared his journey from being a shy student who struggled to focus in class. He spoke about struggling to decide between University and an Apprenticeship before landing an offer at EY. Building confidence and learning to overcome rejection through public speaking at events which eventually led him to where he is today. The keynote was delivered by Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver, CEO of Apprentago, whom I had the chance to briefly chat with about software engineering, including topics like using Flutter and Node.js. Carlo's speech emphasized the importance of recognising and utilising your unique skills to turn your life around. He pointed out that while many challenges are temporary, maintaining hope for the future is crucial and can shape the trajectory of your career. Later in the event, we heard from a panel of apprentices from a range of different sectors including law and cyber security. Panelists Jessica Simony, Tobi Adedeji, Sydney Silver, Amy R., and Junior David Byuzura shared lots of important insight into pros and cons of degree apprenticeships. They discussed balancing work with study life, application and assessment centre tips for example showing off skills while still being yourself. I spoke with many new people about their careers such as Civil Engineer Apprentices Nicole Chigbu and Pipe Akinkuolie about their day to day roles including using software to model how bridges react under different forces. Additionally, I spoke to Sydney Silver about tips on extracurriculars that make you stand out on your cv and how to choose a particular career within the broad sector of technology. Although networking can be intimidating, I ended up connecting with more people than I expected and thoroughly enjoyed the event. I’m looking forward to attending more Launch with Luca events in the future!

1 year ago I left my job with no Network. 365 days later I’m at Windsor Castle, working with some of the top professionals in education, careers & skills. Where we spoke about - building a future based on “potential” NOT privilege ‼️ For the past 48 hours I have been at a private event for a round table discussion at Windsor Castle. Discussing how we can build a “Blueprint For The Future: Skills, Careers and Education.” I was representing Apprentago, showing how our AI Education-Technology platform and social media marketing can help both young people and businesses. Attendees were companies like: - NatWest Group - British Airways - HelpBnk - AtkinsRéalis - Amazon At the end of the first day I got up, grabbed the mic and spoke to the room. Said “let’s make an action of coming together again, show the value of our teamwork, deliver best practice to the industry and create a new gold standard based of what we have learned today. So we can help more young people gain equal access to great education opportunities like more work experience and apprenticeships” Honestly: I am still pinching myself that this is real! I’m just an autistic kid from Ilford who failed his GCSEs because he was homeless. I even got a full private night time tour of Windsor Chapel from one of the 6 remaining Military Knights. Sat exactly where Sir Winston Churchill himself sat when he came to visit Windsor. To say I feel privileged is an understatement. 1 year ago when I went full time on my business I took a leap of faith that changed my destiny forever. Looking back at what’s been achieved by trying to make the most out of every day; good, bad, ugly and putting myself out there has been unbelievable. Huge, huge thank you to the The Inspirational Learning Group (one of our partners) for the invite and the The Foundation for Education Development for your amazing contributions too. Everyone who attended and the companies in the room truly are champions of the future 2025 is the year of teamwork and collaboration for myself & Apprentago. Young people deserve equal opportunities and I plan to work towards making it happen. #education #apprenticeships #network

This shy kid just hosted an event to 300 people? I used to struggle with confidence - a lot. It wasn’t just a little self-doubt, it was something that held me back in so many ways. Meeting new people felt overwhelming, and I would constantly retreat into my own bubble, avoiding situations that pushed me out of my comfort zone. I decided something needs to change. I started forcing myself to go to networking events. That picture is the very first networking event I went to. How many people did I speak to? 1. It was my friend who I came in with. I then started forcing myself to public speak. I began to speak at conferences, schools and even spoke in front of 2000 people. Fast forward to today, I’ve just hosted a networking event to hundreds of people. The key? Exposure therapy. Force yourself into those uncomfortable situations. I want to say a massive thank you to all the students who came on the day. You were all so fantastic and energies out there were beyond contagious. A massive shoutout to the people who helped me on the day! Jessica Simony Junior David Byuzura Amy R. Sydney Silver Tobi Adedeji Fiona A. Sam Walsh Ruby Lowery Bless Diangana Nicole Chigbu Zeekai Clarke Yassin Osman Pipe Akinkuolie And a massive thank you to my good friend and mentor Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver . Believe in yourself people! Launch with Luca Apprentago

Launch by Luca 🚀 Early Career Extravaganza hosted by Luca Chigbo It was an incredible experience attending this event yesterday with Zara Iqbal. As a first-year university student, it provided me with valuable insights into alternative career pathways, including apprenticeships within engineering. 💡 Listening to Luca Chigbo’s and Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver’s (CEO & Founder of Apprentigo) speeches on career growth and challenges has given me a fresh perspective on navigating my career path. 🗣️ The apprentice panel was a very valuable part of the event, where I was able to hear from degree apprentices - Amy R., Junior David Byuzura, Sydney Silver, Jessica Simony, Tobi Adedeji - at top firms including Lloyds Banking Group, Santander, Deloitte, JLR and Farrer & Co. Their insights into the apprenticeship experience and career progression has given me a deeper understanding of the opportunities available- hearing their journeys firsthand was inspiring and informative. ⚙️ As someone interested in engineering, speaking with Jessica Simony, an engineering degree apprentice at JLR, was particularly valuable. She shared advice on career development and the skills required within engineering. Hearing about the types of projects involved in a role like hers, gave me a clearer understanding of what an engineering career could offer. This perspective has broadened my understanding of the field and provided me valuable guidance as I explore my options for the future. #Networking #DegreeApprenticeship #EngineeringCareer

Launch with Luca🚀 In the last several months, I’ve been to different events and met different people. I’ve never met people who have similar educational backgrounds. It so happens that Carlo Alexander-Roy Weaver and Luca Chigbo have been in similar situations to me. This was hands down the best event I’ve been too. At the start of the programme, Carlo and Luca Both gave speaches their early backgrounds on why they chose apprenticeships and how it benefited them as individuals. Then after we went into a networking break, during this networking period, it became nerve wracking for me to talk to people even though I’ve done this 5 times before. I engaged with so many amazing people. We had another key note speaker who was a specialist finance. My highlight of the event was The panel on the pannel was current and graduated DA’s. Hearing there own personal experience has helped me on how to shape mine.
