📉 UK inflation eased slightly more than forecast with the headline figure dipping below the Bank of England’s 2% target for the first time in over three years. 👩💼 The jobs market remains relatively robust despite wages rising at their slowest pace in two years – a further sign that underlying inflationary pressures continue to ease. ✂ Markets are fully pricing a 0.25% rate cut next month, and a 70% probability of a further cut in December. 💳 Focus now is very much on the Budget and the implications for fiscal and monetary policy, and economic growth going forward. 💶 The European Central Bank cut rates by 0.25% yesterday as expected, with forecasters now looking for further cuts at every meeting through to mid-2025. 🌎 The macro backdrop remains key with geopolitical risk and the uncertainty of the US election weighing on investor sentiment. 💸 Sterling dropped back towards the 1.3000 level against the dollar on the weaker inflation print, while GBP/EUR is attempting to gain a foothold above psychological 1.2000 level. 🗽 US headline inflation rose slightly more than forecast, but the Fed still looks set to cut rates by a further 0.50% by year end and continue easing through 2025. ✂ The Bank of England is fully priced for another 0.25% rate cut next month, while a further cut in December is very much in the balance and data dependent. 💼 The UK economy remains relatively resilient, although the Budget later this month will be key to the growth outlook and is adding to the extremely cautious market sentiment. 💶 The European Central Bank meets next week with a 0.25% rate cut fully expected. Markets are pricing in a further cut in December followed by aggressive easing through next year. 🌍 Macro global events including geopolitical risk and the US election are driving a lack of market conviction against such a highly uncertain outlook. 💵 The dollar has recovered from its recent lows, but sterling demand remains strong around the 1.3000 level, while GBP/EUR continues to push the psychological 1.2000 level. We were thrilled to host our annual Golf Day at the prestigious Celtic Manor golf course, bringing together clients and partners for a memorable two-day event designed to strengthen relationships and foster collaboration. The occasion provided a fantastic opportunity for meaningful networking, both on and off the course.   The event kicked-off on the Montgomerie Course, where attendees took on the par-69 challenge, designed by Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie. Despite some very autumnal weather, the day was a great success, capped off with a three-course dinner and awards ceremony. Day two saw a more relaxed start, with breakfast followed by a round on the world-renowned Twenty Ten Course.   It was a fantastic event, enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to MBP and everyone involved in making it happen. #helpingyougofurther #collaboration #golfday
